a very mixed bag, with some songs being really really good, many others being mediocre and meaningless, and a few others being actually bad. I certainly can appreciate the innovation here and it is quite impressive for its time, but many songs should have either been blended with others (Spiral Theme and I'm a Frayed Knot are amazing enough on their own tho) or scrapped entirely.
what a coincidence that 2 of my top 5 records for 2023 sound demented and almost nervous in a sense. depressingly beautiful indie rock from start to finish, and truly filled with heart and emotion. it's truly a tragedy that we lost an artist with so much potential.
