This is so good, Deathcore ain't my genre and I fell in love with this. There's a quality with the musicianship on this album that's incredible.
The pictures and the various stories this album tells is impeccable and impressive. Bernie Taupin's lyrics throughout Goodbye Yellow Brick Road are his most descriptive and imaginative. I think that's the quality that draws everyone into Elton's music. The compositions and lyrics paint a picture that you can see in your head and when listening to these songs on Goodbye Yellow Brick Road, you can picture the characters and the scenes that the music creates. I think the most direct example of ... read more
The production on this album is mind-blowing and the flows and chemistry these two have are equal to the production
Feels like dollar store Lana Del Rey and the actual Lana Del Rey was on the album. I'm sorry this lo-fi electronics new wave shit does not work.
I have mixed feelings on the Taylor album. On one thought I know the music is objectively good and is well produced and is well done. On the other hand it bored the shit out of me. It was very monotone throughout and I am not really into that Lo-Fi sound so this album was never going to be for me
Really good, tastefully done first effort by Wolfgang Van Halen here. The playing and production is top notch
Really good, the Edge of Seventeen cover borders on excellent. Anarchy is another standout. Really stood out here can't wait to hear more

This is by far the best Pretty Reckless and their most consistent effort yet. This album more falls victim to pacing than to actual quality of song. I ... read more
I feel that the Foos really took their time with this one and tried to put on a more complete effort. I like a lot of the dance rock and glam influences in this one but where it falls short is in some pacing issues near the 3/4th mark and the overall length being a bit shorter. Overall I liked this better than Concrete and Gold
This album is 2020 in a nutshell, my goodness. The searing lyrics make you wanna cry
I was wrong for doubting BMTH, this project is one of the most exciting mainstream rock projects to come out in the last 5 years
Finally a mainstream rock band with something to say about race issues. The vocalist has great range and the songs are consise
I like the artistic integrity and experimentation taken with a project like this. It feels eccentric and bold at times while her voice is the soothing thing that guides you through the album. Why was I scared to listen to this or any St. Vincent record? Because I come from an active rock background and this expanded my horizons tenfold. Really good stuff here.
Where this album really succeeds is in the hooks to the songs. Poppy has a niche for getting a melody into your head and having it stick. I had Concrete and the title track I Disagree stuck in my head leading up to the album and it was a little more on the pop side than what I had envisioned but I enjoyed those tracks too. Through and through an enjoyable listen but there are acts doing this pop metal thing better so that's why I only rate it a 75
I have never listened to a Lana Del Ray record before Norman Fucking Rockwell. It wasn't out of refusal or incompetence, I just had other things to do, listening to Tool and Slipknot are priorities and watching New Japan Pro Wresting are priorities. I was always intrigued by Del Rey's boisterous persona and aura she has built for her self. This was released on the same day as Fear Inoculum, which is a legendary album. To me it has to live up to that level of legendary to impress me and it's too ... read more
Fever 333 give me chills up my spine. There is a band with a lot of potential and charisma that I want to become the future of the genre of rock. Yeah, they are political, yeah, they are brash, but it works and Strength In Numbers proves that tenfold. Starts off with "BURN IT" with the Linkin Park style chorus and the bars are so good. The other two members of the band play their asses off to give the band an aura and a big sound. Jason Aalon Butler has charisma for days and has a ... read more
Bring Me The Horizon was sort of in an ext-essential crisis in making this record. Sure they were going more in the Electro Pop direction but I'd thought some of the early identity would still seep through for the group. We would get one song like "Shadow Moses" or "Happy Song" to prove to fans that Oli can still scream and then here's the record. They really didn't do that here. Sure you had songs like Sugar Honey Ice & Tea and Wonderful Life on the heavier side of ... read more
One of the more unexpected things of this year is Sturgill Simpson, a country artist, doing a boogie stoner rock album. But he's a dude who takes risks and this risk has rewarded him with some serious acclaim. It has elements of blues, funk, stoner rock, country and other genres and IT WORKS. It works for someone who is as daring and creative as Sturgill Simpson is. It's sleaze rock done by a country artist and he does it better than most rock artists could ever do that style. The single Sing ... read more
Billie Eilish's debut album WHEN WE ALL FALL ASLEEP WHERE DO WE GO, really impressed me unlike a lot of her contemporaries in the pop or even alternative genres. She found a perfect niche of weird effect and brilliant production choices that it's a cultural shift on how albums should be produced. It's very memorable, the hooks are singable, the content is there and I am all for it. Even as overplayed as Bad Guy is, it's quirky enough that you get something different out of it the first 100 ... read more
This album combines ambition, gumption, balls, and a whole lot of fusion of African American styles that cannot be understated. It's more than a piece of art, it's something that can inspire change and makes you hope for something different. It's got something for everybody and that's what I like most about TPAB.
