Fantastic beat but just not good rapping performances, don't like the vocals here

As stated in my last review, I asked for a trap album. It initially gave me Playboi Carti's self-titled, but that's an album I know pretty much all of, so it gave me Freewave 3 by LUCKI. Another insane clock what the fuck. More Than Ever is one of my favorite trap songs ever, and LUCKI is one of my favorite artists in general, especially his 2017-2019 cloud rap phase.
I already knew a good amount of songs off this album, as I'd ... read more

Chat got me right with the Wilco and man did it outdo itself with this rec.
As I've said before, I don't want to review any two albums in the same subgenre twice in a row, so we switched to the yacht rock style presented in The Royal Scam.
As was the case with many of these albums, I knew (and liked) a few songs. I thought the first three songs on this thing were fantastic but I was excited for a front to back listen.

It's not perfect but it's damn close. Easily one of my favorite albums of all time. Do It Again is absolutely generational by the way, one of the best songs my dad put me on to as a kid and it still holds up amazingly.

Part 2 was Saturday Night Wrist by Deftones, an album that unfortunately didn't hit for me albeit a few songs, giving ChatGPT its first L.
As I've said before, I don't want to review any two albums in the same subgenre twice in a row, so we switched to the indie rock style presented in Yankee Hotel Foxtrot.
Now, this is an album I knew a couple songs off of. This will probably be the case with a lot of albums I review, as I know ... read more

So we started off this series with a bang (Undun) and I was hoping this would continue into this album as well. Sadly, that was not the case for me here.
Let's talk about why we took such a pivot from Undun. First off, I want to broaden my music bag in as many genres as possible, so my goal is basically to never review two albums from the same subgenre consecutively.
Why SNW specifically? Simple. Got fried and listened to Cherry Waves for ... read more

I want to expand my music bag so I copied some of my most listened to artists of the past month and told GPT to give me album recs. It gave me a bunch in many different genres so don't think I'll only be doing hip hop records.
I wanna make this fun so we're gonna say any album I give an 80+ is a "W", a 60-80 is a "V", and <60 is an "L".
Saba was one of my top artists so it suggested I start with ... read more
Genuinely a banger this shit goes stupid in the gym (I am as white as it gets)
nothing yet with the earworms of fighting my demons or rock n roll :(
yeah so a lot of this just lacks what makes ken carson have some absolute 10/10 songs to me: energy. murda musik has a very memorable beat and just has ENERGY in it. FMD has TWO awesome beats with a dope transition. rock n roll is rock n roll. overseas does a great job of incorporating more of a trap rage sound. but here there's nothing that stands out in the ways those tracks do, least not to me. this feels a lot more ... read more
he ain't put effort into this "album" so i ain't putting effort into this review

overall, a really fun balance between some real shit and kendrick just having fun in the booth. definitely an album i'll be coming back to!
