If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late might just be the definitive Drake project for me. Out of everything he’s ever dropped, this one just hits the hardest for me—no unnecessary filler, no corny half-baked tracks, no chart-chasing, just Drake sounding hungry, sharp, and laser-focused. It’s Drake at his most aggressive, and probably the closest he’s ever come to a full-blown rap tape. And honestly it’s one of the best mainstream mixtapes of the ... read more
Miguel is a legend—simple as that. One of the absolute best R&B artists of the 2010s, and Wildheart is the album where he fully stepped into his own lane. After giving us the sleek, soulful All I Want Is You and the already genre-bending Kaleidoscope Dream, Wildheart felt like the moment where Miguel stopped caring about fitting into any box. He didn’t just make another R&B album—he made his album. And what a statement it was.
What’s so striking about Wildheart ... read more
What more can we really say about A$AP Rocky, other than the fact that he’s an absolute legend of the game? By the time AT.LONG.LAST.A$AP dropped, Rocky had already proven himself as one of the most exciting voices in hip-hop, but this was the moment he really cemented his legacy, with a 3/3 great project run. This album really is a whole different trip again. A psychedelic odyssey that hits differently every time you listen to it, but also always manages to amaze you.
Rocky went all in ... read more
Is Future the trap GOAT? Honestly… he just might be. And DS2 is all the proof you need. DS2 is 100% peak Future. He's as unfiltered, unapologetic, and absolutely locked in as ever. It’s an album that defines an era, stands toe-to-toe with classics like Rodeo, and firmly places itself among the greatest trap albums ever made.
From start to finish, DS2 is pure energy. Future rides every beat like it was made specifically for him. It’s raw, it’s intense, it’s ... read more
What more can I really say about Beach House? They’re just one of those bands that simply exist on their own cloud, with no one else close. With Teen Dream and Bloom, they already showed how good they are—those albums are like stepping into a dream, full of rich textures, hypnotic melodies, and that signature melancholic vibe. So yeah, expectations were sky-high for Depression Cherry.
And man, they delivered again. This one maybe isn’t bigger or bolder than what came before, ... read more
Avicii will always be a legend in the game, no doubt about that. But if we’re being real, Stories isn’t his best work. Sure, it has some massive hits like Waiting for Love, and a few decent tracks like For a Better Day and True Believer. But beyond those, does it really offer much more? Honestly, not really.
It doesn’t come close to the magic of his first album, which, while not entirely consistent, still had a lot more standout moments. Stories, on the other hand, feels like ... read more
Belly, one of The Weeknd’s closest collaborators and a key player behind some of his biggest hits, drops Up for Days, and while it’s fine, it doesn’t really hit the mark. The rapping performances are solid, and the songwriting is decent, but honestly, there’s not much that stands out aside from the tracks with The Weeknd (Might Not) and Travis Scott (White Girls). Those two features bring something special, but the rest of the album just doesn’t quite live up to ... read more
Flo Rida was always the go-to guy for getting the party started, especially back in the late 2000s and early 2010s. My House is exactly what you’d expect from him—quick, catchy, and just about 20 minutes of energy. It’s got a few hit songs, like the title track My House, I Don’t Like It, I Love It, and GDFR (though also these hit tracks are not the greatest), but beyond that, it doesn’t really offer much. It’s fun for what it is, but there’s nothing ... read more
Wow… this might honestly be one of the most beautiful songs I’ve heard in a long time. It’s simply mesmerising. Those drums and dreamy synths take you straight to another dimension. There’s this warmth that surrounds the whole track — it instantly puts you at ease, like a gentle embrace.
And Kali sounds as good as ever on this one. Her vocals are so soothing, floating effortlessly over the instrumentation. She doesn’t need to do too much — her ... read more
FINALLY, JID IS BACK. After quite some time of silence—and after saying he’d release like crazy in 2024—he's finally back with a banger. While WRKS is not a full-blown explosion of creativity or a huge artistic leap, it’s an enjoyable return. There’s definitely hope here that he’s gearing up for something bigger.
The beat on WRK is cool—it’s got that bounce that simply gets you going. It’s energetic, but still leaves space for JID to ... read more
Yet another strong single from Jon Bellion’s upcoming album Father Figure. I really loved Wash, and I’m glad he’s keeping the streak alive with Horoscope. It’s heartfelt, you can feel he really means what he’s saying on here. Though I don’t think Pharrell’s verse adds a whole lot, I still think it’s a decent addition. Overall, I like this one quite a bit.
AYO
Just two months after dropping "12", Westside Gunn is back at it again with this new EP "Heels Have Eyes". And of course, he delivers once more. WSG is honestly an unstoppable force at this point. He’s like a machine when it comes to curating that classic Griselda vibe, and this EP is no exception. But let’s be real though, is Heels Have Eyes bringing something new? Not really. But that's not a dealbreaker, at least not for me. The EP got WSG's ... read more
Coming off the incredible Kiss Land, which, unfortunately, wasn’t as widely celebrated as his first three mixtapes, The Weeknd came back with Beauty Behind the Madness, and man, what a statement this album is. I’ve always felt Kiss Land was a bit misunderstood—it’s a dark, moody album that’s actually incredible in its own right, but I get why it didn’t land with everyone (especially critics) at the time. With BBTM, though, Abel really stepped into the ... read more
A straight-up, unforgettable, modern-day classic. That’s Currents for you. After already dropping two amazing albums with InnerSpeaker and Lonerism, Kevin Parker had pretty much cemented himself as the psych-rock guy. But with Currents, he took it to a whole different level. He didn't just stick to the dreamy, fuzzy guitars anymore—he brought in synths, groove, and a whole lot of pop sensibility. And somehow, it still felt totally him.
From start to finish, this album is just ... read more
Chris Brown’s Royalty is yet another mixed bag. He’s got the voice, no doubt, but sometimes his music just feels a bit too formulaic. With Royalty, there are definitely some standout tracks—Back to Sleep, Make Love, Liquor, Zero, Little More, and Blow in the Wind are all highlights. But beyond those, there’s not much that grabs your attention. A lot of the songs just feel a little too safe, like they were thrown together without much thought or creativity. It’s ... read more
Oh Cudi… What have you done.. Why?
Speedin’ Bullet 2 Heaven is a tough listen. I get that he was trying to push boundaries and do something different, but the execution just doesn’t hit the mark. The album is all over the place, with strange vocal performances that don’t really work. I get the alt-rock and grunge vibes he’s going for, but it just feels messy, like he’s trying too hard and the pieces don’t come together. Some songs are hard to sit ... read more
Imagine Dragons’ Smoke + Mirrors feels like quite a step down from their debut Night Visions. They try to bring bigger anthems, but it mostly comes off as trying too hard. The lyrics are generic, the bombastic sound feels forced, and it just doesn't have the same energy or appeal as their first project. Instead of feeling empowering, it often ends up sounding irritating and hollow. There are a couple of decent tracks, sure, but overall, it’s hard to get into. The album lacks ... read more
Chris Brown & Tyga’s Fan of a Fan just doesn’t hit the mark for me. Sure, back when it dropped, I could vibe with it a bit more, but revisiting it now? It feels just flat. The whole project is pretty generic, lifeless, and honestly a bit boring. There’s no real consistency from track to track, and nothing really stands out as memorable. It feels like they had potential with this collab, but they didn’t push things far enough. It’s a missed opportunity, and ... read more
Modern day masterpiece. That’s really what Rodeo is. And man… it’s a fucking classic. This album marks both a significant moment in Travis Scott’s career and a pivotal point in the entire trap and hip-hop scene. With Rodeo, Travis fully cemented his place in the game. He carved out a sound that was uniquely his, and to this day, you can hear Rodeo’s influence on nearly every major trap artist that came after.
Travis definitely draws from Kanye, but Rodeo is where ... read more
Just months after Queen II, the band came back with Sheer Heart Attack, and somehow, they topped themselves again. To me, this is one of Queen’s absolute best. Like seriously, it might even be their best. Either way, it might be my personal favourite from their entire discography. This is Queen really coming into their own—confident, bold, theatrical, but also punchy and sharp. It’s dramatic, yes, but it’s also incredibly tight and entertaining from front to ... read more
