Mac Miller - Balloonerism
90

Fully self produced in a span of two weeks, Mac Miller (rest in peace) pretty much perfected an experimental sound that was unique to him, more of which can be seen in a way more polished state on Faces, one of my favourite mixtapes of all time. Most of these songs are straight up perfect, upfront lyricism and raw experimental production.

Mac’s estate is probably the best way any posthumous music has been handled and man am I glad for that. His legacy is still being written after so many ... read more

Muse - Origin of Symmetry

Muse Discography Review #2

NICE, I LOVE THIS. A pretty massive switch up in their sound, Origin of Symmetry is pure rock opera. Powerful hard hitting guitars paired with Matt Bellamy's unhinged vocal style work so well. Transcendence seems to be the primary theme of this record and the sound perfectly encapsulates that. This was designed so meticulously, it was very theatrical. The 'Feeling Good' cover bangs, never thought it would sound good in this type of rendition.

Addison Rae - Addison

Make way for a new pop princess

I’ve listened to Addison since Obsessed and well, things weren’t the same back then. She was trolled endlessly for a boring song, which quite plainly, it was. But then she released an EP under the radar in 2023 - AR, which had a Charli xcx feature. That showed her potential to be an actual pop artist and here she is, in all her glory.

The era of Addison started with a feature on last year’s album of the year Brat. On Von dutch, Addison had ... read more

Clipse - Let God Sort Em Out

THIS IS CULTURALLY INAPPROPRIATE 🗣️🔥🔥🔥

Wow, I did NOT expect to like a hiphop record this much in 2025, for a year which has been kind of horrendous for mainstream rap contrasted by the likes of McKinley Dixon and Little Simz taking the spotlight. But this record? Holy shit.

Firstly, I accept that I had no idea who Clipse were before this, I had just listened to some Pusha T tracks, but wow, his brother Malice near damn outshined him on almost every song. The production, ... read more

Future - WE DON'T TRUST YOU

Metro never misses, that’s all I gotta say. Finally got the collab album with Future, and it was pretty much a standard Metro project with great production all around. Kinda got a little weak towards the end, and didn’t need these many songs, but a solid project nevertheless.

Olivia Rodrigo - GUTS (spilled)
80

I'm afraid she spilled…

Five more songs in this new era of Olivia Rodrigo and it seems that she still hasn't reached her limit. Experimentation was vivid on this deluxe and it's good. Nothing to complain about, just a little grown out of the pop rock and heavy drums to be honest. ‘so american’ was a banger tho

Beyoncé - COWBOY CARTER
80

Definitely not country; it’s a Beyoncé album

It started off pretty weak, I didn't really like the first quarter of the album apart from the singles, but it gradually picked up and finished off super strong.

Claiming country and yet adding your own blend to it is something only an artist of Bey’s caliber can do. I hate country, normally but I liked this record because it didn’t sound anything like a typical country record. The album length felt a bit too long, the ... read more

Future - WE STILL DON'T TRUST YOU

A little too much but great nevertheless

I really liked this over WE DON'T TRUST YOU. I feel like this one was more cohesive and the soundscaping was done immaculately. Metro really out here making love to his laptop, goddamn.

The Weeknd features really were the highlights of this, J Cole stop making music challenge impossible 🔥, that was such a sleeper. Stick to your narrative bro, this humble shit ain't it 😭.

Overall, could've done without 6-7 tracks, everything was ... read more

ZAYN - ROOM UNDER THE STAIRS

His best work recently

After Mind of Mine, I was always skeptical if he would be able to follow up with a better piece of work. And he has done it.

ROOM UNDER THE STAIRS follows up as a very different artistic direction from Zayn from RnB to a complete shift into Country-Blues, and it's something very unexpected. The lyricism is top-notch, he has amazing production credits all over this album and it just sounds like something I would listen to on a long drive in the countryside, that ... read more

I GOT MY TOOTH REMOVED
*PARRAPAPAPPAP*

Jokes aside, relistened to this after a while only to be reminded how nonsensically funny this record is. Laura and Dylan, keep making goofy music like this, sometimes you just gotta wind down and relax to 25+ mins of ear destroying instrumentals.

Fontaines D.C. - Romance

never knew industrial drums is all that it took to transport me back years.

Lady Gaga - Harlequin

Gaga’s Jazz Masterclass

Gaga, no doubt, is in her element at covering some of the most iconic jazz soundtracks for the jukebox musical Joker: Folie à Deux. Her ability to manipulate her voice into so many different textures and styles sort of defines this record. She’s such a powerhouse vocalist.

This soundtrack has some of the most iconic songs in broadway culture and she does them all justice. The original songs fit in well too. Can’t wait for the film (it’s ... read more

Charli xcx - Brat and it's completely different but also still brat

Truly a remix

This is for mixtape Charli fans, generic fans can ward off.

Not a single song is the same, and I LOVE IT FOR THAT. This is truly a remix album. Every artist (except the rat Matty Healy) brings out a very different persona, contrasting to the original songs at times, but somehow - it all works out.

Special mention to Bon Iver for a beautiful remix, that was the last song I thought I would like, but that’s how things go.

TOMORROW X TOGETHER - The Star Chapter: SANCTUARY
70

Great progression

Didn’t like their last work as a huge TXT fan, but this one’s a very concise and solid project. Great production over the entire record, probably their most joyful and happy lyrics so far lmao - I’m used to listening to the depressing minisode songs.

Revisiting every LP Album till From Zero drops - 3. Minutes to Midnight

I took upon the chance to revisit Linkin Park’s entire discography before the new album drops in 5 days from now. After their nu-metal stint, the band takes a new direction with their third album - Minutes to Midnight

First off, I just have to compliment the change in artistic direction after seeing how commercially successful nu-metal was for them. Changing lanes to pure rock feels refreshing and you start to hear ... read more

Revisiting every LP Album till From Zero drops - 6. The Hunting Party

I took upon the chance to revisit Linkin Park’s entire discography before the new album drops in 2 days from now. The band is officially back in business with The Hunting Party.

Arguably their heaviest work to date, with no producer involved. Just the band pulling all the strings, and you can hear it in every track. Honestly, it’s just great metal. A lot of A-list features on this one too, Rakim with a crazy ... read more

Revisiting every LP Album till From Zero drops - 7. One More Light

I took upon the chance to revisit Linkin Park’s entire discography before the new album drops tomorrow at midnight. I’ll just get straight into this. Trigger warning - suicide and substance abuse.

One More Light is a heavy album, not literally. It’s a pop record, something which I wanted to listen from them, and honestly, they did a great job at it. I loved the vocal samples, Mike did a great job singing some ... read more

Linkin Park - From Zero

WE GO ALL THE WAY BACK FROM ZERO

This record is a great start to Linkin Park’s new era with a new vocalist.- Emily Armstrong. This album, while albeit not perfect but is a promising start of a hopeful new beginning after tragedy struck the band in 2017.

From Zero is basically a culmination of all Linkin Park albums in one, which I feel like is a good way to show Emily’s versatility and the band’s ability to emulate any sound they possibly can. Mike is way more involved in ... read more

ROSÉ - rosie

We may have a new pop bible…almost

rosie is ROSÉ’s first full-length album after eight years of dominating the industry with her girl group, she finally steps out and plants herself as a pop force to be reckoned with, because there's some really amazing things going on here.

Right out, the pre-2017 Taylor Swift influence is all over this record, it even takes some of Olivia Rodrigo’s angst and Avril Lavigne’s punk, but Rosé maintains some ... read more
