a criminally underappreciated part of DG's catalog. the grooves are fulfilling and invigorating on nearly every single song. the production here is an outlandish, electronic nightmare. even though Ride's vocals take a backseat on the album he still delivers some incredibly catchy refrains and the lyrics are as abrasive and memorable as ever.

this album makes for a very long, but completely one-of-a-kind listening experience. builds excellent atmosphere with lots of emotional highs and lows. Gira's disturbed, animalistic vocal performances add loads of tension and uneasiness to the project. swans have created an unmistakably distinctive aura with this record

56 nights saw future in the midst of his most convincing streak of high quality projects. charismatic, passionate performances with lots of catchy hooks complimented by gritty production. hard-hitting, quick listen that is short enough to avoid monotony.
