Steve Lacy - Gemini Rights
85

i had heard bad habit and static before, but i listened fully through this because people say malcolm todd was inspired by steve lacy. and i do see the resemblance between the 2 styles. which is a good thing since i like the style. steve's singing is great, production is for the most part solid, and there was only a few dips in the tracklist, even though it's a short album. overall this was a short and sweet album, with a lot of great songs.

Iron Maiden - The Number of the Beast

album 2 of me giving metal a try: the number of the beast

not as good as paranoid, but it has its highlights. hallowed be thy name, the title track and run to the hills are all bangers. there was some average songs though, but mostly it consisted of great ones. i liked this. i liked the fast tempo of these songs, and the vocals were great too.

Malcolm Todd - Malcolm Todd (still)

attention: 10/10
nemo: 8.5/10
zip up my fly: 9/10
original: 10/10

going solely off the deluxe songs, it's really great. same quality as the songs already on the album, some even better. just 4 tracks, but they were really good. so im giving it the same rating as the album, since its only 4 songs and easier to get higher ratings.

Malcolm Todd - Malcolm Todd

id say sweet boy slightly beats this, but this is still a great project from him. once again, he has a knack for making catchy songs. a few duds, but the highs were very good, with some of my new fav tracks from him. all in all, really loved this, and i really love malcolm todd.

Malcolm Todd - Do That Again
80

not as good as sweet boy, but still great regardless. malcolm has a thing for making catchy pop songs, and i saved a solid amount of songs on here. but the album does have a few weak tracks, and gets a tad repetitive at points, similar to sweet boy. however the highs are great, i saw your face is one of my new favs from him, as well as difficult love and a few others. production was pretty consistent, and this was a fun experience overall.

Black Sabbath - Paranoid
95

album 1 of me giving metal a try: paranoid

its basically the starting point from what ive heard, being accessible and easy to like. and I agree. there are actually some songs on here I already heard, and even the ones I haven't were really good too. the guitars and instrumentals always sounded so good, i couldn't stop loving them. and the singing from ozzy is just next level. I never actually knew he was in black sabbath, rip to him, he was really good at singing. overall no real bad ... read more

Chris Travis - Pizza and Codeine

this is such a vibe, awesome laid back production and calm rapping from chris travis, only a few songs not worth a playlist add, and overall this was such a fun and laid back experience. sounds like something to get high to, and its so addicting. loved this.

LUCKI - Freewave 3

got pretty repetitive at the end, but there were some fire songs throughout. less cloud rap and more trap sounding, but it still was good. a decent amount of average though.

LUCKI - Alternative Trap
80

i feel this has lower lows than body high, as there were more songs i didnt rock with, but at the same time the highs were really crazy. alternative outro is a all timer for sure. i think this is on par with body high, as both have incredible production and mostly good performances from lucki. enjoyed this as well. great overall.

LUCKI - Body High
80

production was very awesome throughout. not one weak beat except maybe crime pays. and lucki for the most part had good flows and rapping, with only a few average songs. but the highs were great with songs like slow down and reflections. overall a very fun cloud rap project, and easy to digest.

Cocteau Twins - Heaven or Las Vegas

what did my ears just get blessed with? this sounds straight from heaven. not a single bad song or bad moment. loved this from start to finish with no complaints.

Sickboyrari - Crack Cloud$ Over Arts Kitchen
90

this is such an experience. if floating in space, being high off crack, while staring at the constellations was a sound, this mixtape is it. there is just something about this that tickles me in all the right spots lol. the lyricism is average, but this production is the best i have heard. I don't think anything is topping it. the highs are incredible, with only a few slip ups in the tracklist. perhaps one of my new favourites.

Tame Impala - InnerSpeaker
85

it’s tame impala so it’s obviously gonna be fire. really like the sound they had here. and there are some incredible tracks here. with only really a couple that were meh. really fun project and i liked it.

Sublime - 40oz. to Freedom
80

not as good as their self titled album, but still was pretty fun. the beginning started off strong, with a bunch of bangers and great songs, then i feel the album slowly got worse. except date rape that song picked it back up. this is skater music just like their other album, but it still has charm. a bunch of songs that I loved, but also a fair share of songs that weren't all that either. still a very solid project from them overall.

Sublime - Sublime
90

just fun, easygoing skater rock kinda stuff. there isn't much introspectiveness here, as expected. but that isn't something to complain about. the instruments sounded great, although sometimes the microphone sounds like it was recorded in a dumpster near a homeless shelter, it still sounded good overall. a lot of fun tracks here with only a few skips. really fun.

Lil Xan - TOTAL XANARCHY

just noise pollution, nails on a chalkboard sound better.

MF DOOM - MM..FOOD
100

holy shit dude this is awesome.

this is just incredible song after incredible song. MF DOOM's writing is unmatched. absolutely love his funny, quirky, and interesting bars on some tracks. only he could make a 10/10 album about food. some could argue the middle part isn't good (since it is just like 4 skits in a row) but i think it's charming. and adds to the whole "food" theme of the album. but the music at the core is easily some of the best rapping i've ever ... read more

Future - DS2 (Deluxe)
85

is this the best trap album ever? no. but was it really good? yes. personally, i would say this, and his monster mixtape kinda go hand in hand for future's best project, but the atmosphere on here is awesome. really feels like a druggy, lean sounding rap experience that was fun to sit through. with it being 18 tracks, there were some duds and some meh songs I was indifferent to. but there was some heat here too. like thought it was a drought, i serve the base, the percocet and stripper ... read more

(disclaimer i am only reviewing the songs on the spotify version of this). i always thought future was nothing but a mainstream trap artist putting out average songs. but this proves he does have great projects in his catalog. the production was pretty consistent, with only a few duds. loved some of the hard hitting beats on here. future's flow and rapping is surprisingly awesome for the most part. I will admit the last leg of this album kinda falls off, with a few skips, but then codeine ... read more

Radiohead - In Rainbows
90

not as good as ok computer. but still great. the highs were great, with tracks like all i need, weird fishes / arpeggi, and jigsaw falling into place. only 1 song I didn't find good enough for a playlist add. nothing really worth complaining about on this album really.
