The vocals are incredible and that's what stands out the most for me. If some of these songs were sung by any other person they wouldn't have the same impact that they have on this record, maybe they'd even sound a bit generic, but she manages to make it interesting no matter what.
So obviously this is a very fun album that you can listen in any occasion, but still pretty brilliant and distinguishable from other pop/house albums. A pretty good third debut from bjork
There is something that prevents this music from being to good to great but I really can't put my finger on it. The ideas are there but maybe it's the monotony? Same sound through the album? The production? I don't know. I also feel like the built up parts were amazing, but they lacked the build up itself, the part that precedes them. Overall still pretty good though, I will re listen so I can give a solid opinion but it's about 70
I feel like not giving this a 100 is just a matter of time. So fucking peak
I'm between a 70 and 75 because it's very enjoyable but honestly I don't really see much apart from that. A lot of moments felt extremely empty and repetitive, a lot of ideas weren't that good but since the production is pretty impeccable, even those moment weren't unpleasant. Many times I hoped a song would progress or evolve but nothing really happened. The emptiness also makes it kind of hard to be replayable.
The good sides are the production and a few of these ... read more
One of the most raw and genuinely aggressive albums I have listened to. It is pretty easy and fun to digest, meaning you can listen to it anytime you want, but it never gets boring
I have known this album for a long time because my dad plays it on the home stereo, but I never payed attention to it because it thought it was some generic rock music.
One day I decided to listen to it with headphones, I already knew every song almost by memory but I had never listened to it with full attention. Well, okay, I get why people think it's so good now.......
The vocals are insane, the melodies are perfect and Black is top(some low number) songs of all time; I could listen ... read more
I really don't see how this could be considered one of the best albums of all time. I mean it's good, especially the songs The Beautiful Ones and Purple Rain, but there is nothing in here that would make me think this is the best music can offer?
It'd my first listen though so I won't rate
I really like this EP but the length make it very hard for me to give it anything more than a 75. It starts really strong with 3 good songs; "New Jeans", probably one of the most iconic in their discography, "Super Shy" which blends dance pop with dnb, not very common in everyday kpop, and "ETA", which trumpets make it stand out from the rest of their discography and in general in what is heard in kpop. It then goes on with "Cool With You" which is a ... read more
Who would have thought that they'd put out one of their best works after 30 years of their debut album? There isn't a single underwhelming song in here, every single one of them has a unique personality and place. I think about you all the time is probably the best Deftones song along with Entombed, overall a big win for Koi No Yokan fans. My only critique is that the production can be a little muddy, but that's the risk of making shoegaze
Deftones had already explored the areas of shoegaze with their previous albums, but this one in particular is where it culminates. Their heavy shoegaze sound, which was practically unexplored/unpopular before them, literally started a wave of metal-ish artists inspired by them and to this day I think is what makes them relevant more than ever. This album is the perfect representation of this, and has a very unique gaze to it. By the way, stop glazing Rosemary
Probably the hardest Radiohead album to get into if we don't consider TKOL. You got some certified easy-to-listen bangers like 2+2=5, There There, Myxomatosis, Sail To The Moon and a Wolf at the Door, which are definitely among their best works, but you also have weirder songs like Stand Up. Sit Down, Where I End You Begin, and obviously The Gloaming, which are songs that are hard to get into at first but when you get them you really do. The only problem with this album are the more ... read more
Okay so I have a popular but also unpopular opinion for this album; while I think it is a masterpiece and every song is consistently great (I mean look at the tracklist WHAT), I don't think any of these songs are actually the best they have put out? To me it's missing that 10/10 factor which is usually determined by me being very connected to the songs, and I'm not particularly connected with any song here. I guess you could say it is their best work objectively, but for me ... read more
very fun and sweet, but nothing really stands out to me. Overall not bad at all but i would not listen again
I just can't get myself into Axl's vocals and the instrumentals man. I really wish i enjoyed this
Some songs were very good, others were pretty kind of forgettable. I don't see the hype but maybe i'm not into the genre that much
