Grace’s eccentric personality combined with futuristic production gives way to a very captivating, forward thinking album. STTR is unlike any of Grace previous or next albums. The new wave/dance/rock/reggae music is replaced by repetitive, abstract electronic production. Her voice is replaced by fragments of interviews, like an audio auto- biography. It also leaves behind covers and hedonistic lyrics for content based around on rhythm, being a “slave to the rhythm” and her ... read more
Not Extraordinary At All
Revisionism on music is more alive than ever, for better or worse, and Extraordinary Machine is not the exception. Constantly treated as the black sheep of her discography (which it is) Machine is a stepback. With eternal delays and a Fiona Apple who didn’t want to record it, Machine is not an improvement or better take on her personal sorrow and angst charged lyricism. Her piano playing is more stiff than ever, the melancholy and frustration evoked on Tidal and ... read more
Pretty much her biggest achievement as an artist. The tense, repeated strings and muffled voice building up every section slowly, up until the final release of her frustrations and anger. Very powerful yet sentimental piece of music
Pope picture blah blah blah. Sinead was an artist beyond that and this song. Yes, this doesn’t stand as my favorite Sinead song. The saccarine, melodramatic energy of mainstream adult contemporary ballads is present, and Hoopers bland production doesn't do much. Still, her standout vocal performance and delivery that turn Prince’s words into a sorrowful letter to a long gone abusive mother that balances between sadness, anger and relief is worth a listen.
I Feel Love sounds like the soundtrack to a distant, hedonistic sexual utopia where reaching love and sexual pleasure is the highest form of personal satisfaction. Giorgio Moroder’s forward thinking production is minimalistic yet rhythmic, lush, digital synths throbbing, and of course, Donna’s vocals, which sound like she’s in a lethargic state, just about to reach an unknown dimension every chorus. A perfectly crafted and produced song, that birthed Hi-NRG and most likely ... read more
The abrupt change between sections, the awful sampled sax and sirens, the distorted bass and the lines…a certified hood classic.
The guitar textures among the mixture between brazilian music and jazz and vocal performance makes this album a reall enjoyble record

Renaissance of an End
I’ll admit is lazy to rate this obscure ep containing the only worthy songs of the last album by the Walker Brothers, Nite Flights, instead of rating the full thing, but no one really cared about the other goes enough though.
After a 70s decade full of decline, labels making him record awful sellout attempts and depression struggles, Scott finds himself and his voice again. Shutout is a rock song unexpectedly inspired by disco, with amazing solos and a Scott who ... read more
Scott wild years were about to end at this point; he couldn't spend his entire career singing about romantic longing and whorehouses, so it was a natural decision that Scott 3 was more mature, concise, melancholic and serious than the schmaltzy wall of sounds of Scott 2. Scott took the wise decision of stop being a Jacques Brel tribute act and take the songwriting in his hands, which by this time had improved and grow into a complex, bittersweet lyricism that dealt with romantic ... read more
As bad as her recent output or just average?
Its been 2 yeras since i received this album with open arms, a bit turned off by the first two singles, but awaiting, and then when the day came, i was incredibly disappointed, and i still am. This doesn’t come close to being outstanding, specially because it opens with 4 terrible songs, but the rest sounds decent, might even be enjoyable. The production is not mindblowing and abuses of gabber style and strings, the songwriting is ok (except ... read more
Really good and overlooked album, mixing various complex rock genres with amazing sax playing to create a record full of great textures. Rating: 9/10
Highlights: Rest Stop, Sometimes my Balls Feel Like Tits, The Blizz of ‘99, The One That Goes Boom
An album hyped as peak “fun” and club trashiness that does not live to the expectations, specially because the songs are not enough upbeat to produce any kind of amusement, nor deep enough to take them them seriously. In technical aspects, the album is fine, the production is well done, can’t say the same for the average, forgettable melodies, poor surface level lyricism and bland auto tuned vocals. The marketing as well, made this even more annoying than it was. This album ... read more
A really novele and mellow album
the ambient and songwriting is really beautiful, not a single song is out of its place, probably best project released this year
Annie delivers one of her best projects in years, which is amazing since Daddy’s Home was extremely disappointing. Ar the same time, it happens to be a singles album, something weird for an alternative artists. Her musicianship and creativity are present, there are some nice moments and a is a decent listen, but it just passes by without leaving any impact or memorable song.
Rating: 5/10
Highlights: Broken Man.
Least Favorite: Sweetest Fruit.
MY opinions on The United States of America ST
Pretty ahead of its time, revolutionary and set trends that were followed even decades latter, both guitars and electronics are well done, not a big fan of the female vocalist, i feel her voice doesnt match the progressive attitude.
8/10
In what I would consider her actual debut, Grace outrageous, eccentric persona finally shines and goes ahead as a visionary pop star. Many forgettable, failed disco albums preceded this, as Grace sings on Bullshit, and her label thought she needed a shift in direction. That’s when duo Sly and Robbie shape Grace ‘s voice into very playful, quirky reversions of rock classics. Title track takes The Normal’s song about Symphorophilia into a dance, diva-like track, which works fine ... read more
Before And After Science >>>
Este álbum vio a Eno alejarse de su sonido art rock y centrarse en la electrónica y el ambient, tiene una composicion mucho más minimalista como resultado, pero que no llega a ser simplona o decepcionante.
So you are tired of me using the same formula and song structure
Devasting lyrics given the context, good lyrics after all but sadly that’s the only redeemable aspect of this album.
His vocals and the abusing of drum pads and synthesizers in his now typical 'indie folk section-loud electronic section- indie folk/ambient section' he has been using since Carrie & Lowell drag down the album too much, not at the point of making it unlistenable or bad, just average. I hope the best for ... read more
