Ethel Cain - Preacher's Daughter
96

One of the most hauntingly beautiful albums I've ever listened to, with a great story to back it up.

Rico Nasty - Nasty
68

This was a decent mixtape, and definitely has me anticipating Rico's new album. The more mid tracks just don't stand out and kind of bore me, however she really shines on some of the tracks she has more personality on, like with 'Bitch I'm Nasty'. I'm definitely looking forward to listening to more of her discography, as she has so much potential.

fave: Countin' Up

Songs: Ohia - Ghost Tropic
90

Quite depressing lyrically, combined well with the slow core style. Overall a beautiful record.

Grace VanderWaal - CHILDSTAR
45

Grace has some interesting ideas on this record, and not half bad vocals, but the execution could have been much better. I mainly only knew of her appearance on America's Got Talent, but I can see she has potential as and artist. She just needs to find more direction sonically.

fave: What's Left Of Me

Rina Sawayama - SAWAYAMA
89

A genre-bending masterful work that shows Rina's vocal and lyrical talents within her debut album.

JENNIE - Ruby
72

This album was SO much better than I expected. I think this may have converted me from a k-pop indifferent to fan???

My experience with this genre is so weird because I have always dismissed it as being a trend and a cash grab. That may be true still, but I can't deny that k-pop music is popular for a reason. It's fun, danceable, and catchy as hell.

This album takes many different approaches to mainstream music, many of which I connect with very well. The first 10 or so songs are ... read more

This album has taken me SO MANYY god damn listens to get a grasp of this album due to it's experimental nature, and I must say I am in love with the sound of it after all this time. Not sure how long it will take me to get around to kick ii, let alone Arca's self-titled, but this was a great start. Stellar production and vocals from Arca overall.

Allie X - Girl With No Face
75

Dark synth-pop that does well at showing off Alexandra's talents as a producer, writer, and vocalist, though still feels a bit bland at times.

Fave: off with her tits

Robyn - Honey
90

Great synth pop that subverts expectations with its more stripped-back sound that lets Robyn's vocal melodies shine.

fave: Baby forgive me

Fiona Apple - The Idler Wheel Is Wiser than the Driver of the Screw and Whipping Cords Will Serve You More than Ropes Will Ever Do
88

Great introduction to Fiona for me. she is a great songwriter and vocalist and her piano rock style is executed well.

fave: Daredevil

Rebecca Black - Let Her Burn
65

This walked so SALVATION could run, not bad though.

Tyler, The Creator - CALL ME IF YOU GET LOST
85

Immaculate as usual for tyler

Fave: corso

Kendrick Lamar - Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers
79

Wonderful storytelling & lyricism

BeyoncĂ© - BEYONCÉ
85

Personal, sexy, beautiful. What more can you ask from a Beyoncé record?

fave: haunted

WILLOW - empathogen
80

Decent rock album, despite not being the hugest fan of the genre.

fave: symptom of life

90

The vinyl is on its way.

Rebecca Black - SALVATION
84

This album grabbed my attention and was definitely one of the LP's I was most looking forward to. I wasn't disappointed, as every song here is a hit.

fave: Twist The Knife

FLO - Access All Areas
60

Has some cute tracks on it, but I likely won't be coming back to it too often due to its lack of character.

fave: walk like this
