Really solid posse project. Denzel just gets better and better a making curated projects while still adding his own contributions. Consistent all the way through.
placeholder review, was bangin my head too much to think abt rating it highkey
update: pretty damn good
A good mixtape. IDK brings the boom bap sound on full blast here, with Black Thought, Pusha T, Conductor Williams, No ID, and JVB bringing their own contributions.
However, it’s those contributions that make up the majority of the highlights on this tape, and little from IDK himself. On songs with featured verses, it feels like those verses overshadow his own (i.e LiFE 4 A LiFE with Push), and sometimes it feels like the beats full potential isn’t reached (SCARY MERRi).

Going into this, I was already a fan of J’s work with glass beach (and casio dad to some extent) and was going into this expecting something along the sound of plastic death. But I was pleased and impressed to hear J’s new sound.
It really feels like they combined the sound of glass beach’s first album and casio dad with emo rock like WillyRodriguez, while still having their own sound. I love love LOVE, J’s vocal performance, especially on songs like You Are an Angel ... read more
I’m just gonna say it upfront.
This is their best work since Plastic Beach. Everything about this album, from the instrumentation, the collaborations, lyrics, and overall aesthetics of the album are top notch. Gorillaz’s ability to mix genre after genre is an ability that is second to none, and that shines spectacularly on this album.
After Cracker Island, which was very lackluster for me, I was worried that Gorillaz had lost its spark, that maybe there was no gas left in the ... read more
Baby Keem returns after 5 years since the massive album run that was The Melodic Blue, with Ca$ino, which is a decent listen, but a bit underwhelming
I enjoyed this on first listen, but there are some things I felt missing on this album. Maybe it's because I expected the music to go harder than it did, but I still ended up enjoying it nonetheless. I really really enjoyed Dramatic Girl and Circus Circus Free$tyle. I liked the fact that Keem didn’t really let Kendrick overpower him, ... read more
Like most people, I found this band through Edgar Wright’s Baby Driver, which is one of my favorite movies of all time. This was a really good listen, a good glimpse into what was the early punk rock scene in the late 70’s.
while not as great as Somewhere City was, it's still a good follow-up record nonetheless.
one of the best midwest emo projects i've ever heard, definitely a must listen
I never really heard a single thing from Bad Bunny until now, and I decided, since he just came off of doing his Halftime Show that I’d give it a shot.
I was not disappointed. All the sounds on this record made me feel like I was back at those parties my parents used to make me go to where I would be forced to make a makeshift bed with a couple chairs (which is seemingly what the cover art is referencing).
really like the transition on this one, really fun to listen to. going on the fighting game playlist fs
Wow. This entire album was an EXPERIENCE. This album perfectly encapsulates the feeling of trying to overcome a tremendous loss. The production on here is stellar, each track conveying to the listener the band’s struggle without their third. If By the Time I Get to Phoenix was them experiencing the grief, then My Ghost Go Ghost is them coming to terms with the loss. GGG’s abrupt ending gives me the impression that the album loops, insinuating that the loss may stay with them, but ... read more
loving this return. my main gripe with his recent work was always that he was trying to capture the whole "viral trend" energy, but this one was a really laid back, smooth, and actually talks about how he disagrees with his environment.
really hope this is his new direction
AMAZING FIRST DEBUT! This album really gave me a great first impression. I feel a great mix of BC,NR and WillyRodriguez on this one, but there’s a great amount of uniqueness on this that doesn’t wear the influences on their sleeves too much. Everything on this album, from the vocals, instrumentals, and lyrics are wonderfully combined to make a great first effort.
Can’t wait to hear more of this band in the future.
damn, man, I'm tired as fuck
only got, like, twelve hours of sleep last night
