A pretty solid blend between Rage Against the Machine and Soundgarden with stronger tracks from the days of butt rock, emo, and pop-punk. While they make cliche angsty lyrics, Audioslave's self-titled has something more interesting to offer than the status quo. Seeing Pitchfork use a r-slur like some edgy 12 year old is so hilarious to me.
A pretty solid early 2000s hard rock/heavy metal album. This is one of those albums that defined the era (in a good way). I really enjoy it as someone who really likes it heavy.
Favorite track(s): "Feel So Numb", "Demon Speeding", "Never Gonna Stop (The Red, Red Kroovy)".
One of the best hard rock and heavy metal albums to ever come out of the late 90s while defining it in a good way. "Dragula" is a timeless banger, "Superbeast" was pretty good, and "Living Dead Girl" is a classic, the rest is surprisingly enjoyable.
One of my all time favorite albums. Hearing them in a Sailor Mercury AMV goes even harder than a certain butt rock song set to dinosaur and Sonic Unleashed footage.
Among one of the best rock albums to come from a decade loaded with post-grunge, nu metal, pop-punk, alternative rock, metalcore, emo and butt rock. The excellent instrumentation, Josh Homme's stellar laid-back vocals, and strong lyric writing makes this stand out better compared to its contemporaries. This is also one hell of a 'must listen' for those nostalgic for the early 2000s but need something besides post-grunge, nu metal, butt rock, emo, metalcore, pop, and hip hop.
Move over overhyped prehistoric creature cause this is Shenhe's song now!!
A heavy and impactful grunge album with a painful and crushing circumstance, and it's depressing as hell but not whiny.
An absolute masterpiece from one of the Big 4 of Grunge, "Nutshell" is among the best sad songs of all time. The rest is potent.
We have Alice In Chains at home, even though they were Staind's main inspiration. Aaron Lewis and his buddies go from nu metal angst to the butt rock version of My Chemical Romance.
I listened to this album twice, and it's incredibly bland as hell. "Fallen Angels" sounds like the most stereotypical Skillet song ever. Go listen to Motley Crue and Trivium, they have more edge than these Hot Topic chumps.
One of the most unintentionally hilarious emo/metalcore albums of the 2010s, "Alone" had me laughing my ass off. The rest is giggle worthy.
Nirvana but whiny as hell, "She Hates Me" sounds like a butt rock version of Simple Plan, "Control" was okay albeit forgettable, the same goes to "Blurry", and the rest is as interesting as plain, white bread. I'd rather have a pimple in my ass.
