Olivia Rodrigo - GUTS
85

I LOVE THIS. the punk rock influences she pulls from are fully evident on this project, but she still makes things her own. the choruses on nearly every song are incredibly catchy, and as usual her lyrics display a great understanding of being young that really hits home. this is everything that i wanted from o rod. so fun to listen to, and i already have so many memories to this. the perfect soundtrack for the upcoming winter.

L'Rain - I Killed Your Dog
88

this is fantastic. i love the variety presented, and the saxophone riffs always get me, even if thyre quiet. it never gets boring, and its so much fun to listen to. one of my favorite first-time listens of the year

Joanna Sternberg - I’ve Got Me
85

this is so homely and… comfortable. it feels like being hugged by a grandma or sumn.

Pharoah Sanders - Save Our Children
89

why are the ratings so low? THIS IS INCREDIBLE

Pusha T - Fear of God II: Let Us Pray
58

one good thing i can say us that i love pushas voice. some of the features on this project just dont do it for me, and a lot of the beats are just boring. There is some potential on display here, though

Labi Siffre - Remember My Song
88

this feels like an extension of the best parts of for the children. its more jazzy, and sometimes experimental. i love it. the end isnt as good as the beginning, but the beginning is basically perfect so 🤷.

Labi Siffre - For The Children
63

listen. i absolutely adore labi, but this album really is not up to the level of his previous albums. the mixing is just bizarre. there are some cool parts like the opener and the title track, but the album doesnt really elaborate on those ideas very much until the last few tracks. the whole middle of the album feels kind of empty. entertainment value is pretty great, and it really reminds me of father john misty. i really really wanted to like it, and maybe thats why im so disappointed. A lot ... read more

Labi Siffre - Crying, Laughing, Loving, Lying
98

this is labi really growing to his full potential. i love every song on here. its so diverse yet it has a throughline of great writing amd interesting instrumentation. i absolutely love his voice and i feel like he uses it more on this project than on his previous ones. also the bass tone is immaculate throughout. absolutely love this album, it is near perfect.

Labi Siffre - The Singer and the Song
88

i adore this album. its so jampacked with ideas and lyrics and guitar and it never gets boring. The only songs i dont love are rocking chair and thank your lucky star, but the line ‘shes in an institution, she tried to shoot me with a knife’ gets me everytime even if its stupid. this is labi realizing the potential demonstrated by his last album, and i just love it. his voice is my favorite in all of music, so i kinda wish he used it to its fullest potential in this album, but ... read more

Labi Siffre - Labi Siffre

as always labi is amazing. some parts of the album can get stale, but for the most part the writing is great, and some of the instrumentals are just incredible. i really like this album, especially something on my mind and idkwhttk

John Powell - How to Train Your Dragon (Music From The Motion Picture)
97

The Muppets - A Muppet Christmas: Letters to Santa
NR

my last request is to listen to this

The Flaming Lips - Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots
90

other than the fact that fight test is literally just father and son, this album RULES. i love the huge variety of cool arps and acid basses they use, and i also love the storytelling. this is such an adhd friendly album and i absolutely love it. excited to listen to more fl projects!!

Rahsaan Roland Kirk - Prepare Thyself to Deal With a Miracle
86

rolands playing is incredible as usual, but sometimes the orchestral arrangment falls kind of flat. when they work together well, like in the end of the first song and on saxophone concerto, it creates an incredible experience that makes everything else worth it. good album.

Pharoah Sanders - Wisdom Through Music
76

Perfectly alright, but not nearly as good as any of his previous projects. it felt too clean and contemporary for me to fully get into it. love is everywhere is good though

Pharoah Sanders - Black Unity
97

peak. the end with the bells or marimbas or whatever is so so so cool. love the rhythms and instrumentation in the beginning. awesome awesome awesome
