The first half of this album is vastly superior to the second, and while the songs on the second half aren't necessarily bad, I doubt I'll ever listen to them again. Amsterdam seems super underrated here, I absolutely adore it.

A really great album overall with a couple songs I don't care for that much, like Chevrolet. That being said, the highs on this album consist of some of my favorite songs of all time: Sahib, I Wish I Knew, and This Sky are all timeless songs that serve as perfect reminders that some of the best music you'll ever hear is lying in wait for you on deeply underground, unknown albums like this one.

Definitely overhated, but also far from perfect. There's nothing offensively bad on this album, just some songs that end up being kind of boring despite trying to convey some serious intensity. Your Possible Pasts is very uninteresting, but is saved by a good guitar solo. The Gunner's Dream is gorgeous and perfect and the last three tracks are fantastic. The fact that there's just an impromptu ear-shattering explosion halfway through has always been funny to me.

Immensely nostalgic album for me. The sound is so tender but it also has great moments of intensity. Wild World and Father and Son are the hits and the obvious 100s, but my two favorites are actually the opener and On the Road to Find Out.

A great album that revitalized him after a string of albums that all blended together and didn't have very many standouts. To me, this paved the way for even greater albums like Love & Theft, Modern Times and Tempest, all of which I like more than this. That being said, this is still an incredibly powerful listen. A couple songs I heard for the first time, like Can't Wait, I could definitely move their ratings up in the future. Million Miles is the obvious weak point for me. ... read more
