"Pink Floyd" here might as well be an entirely different entity from Pink Floyd in the 70s, but this new entity competes very strongly with the old one. 4th favorite PF album.

One of Bob's classic albums, and one that I love, but don't necessarily adore in the way that I adore Blood on the Tracks. The main reason for this is the three tracks consisting of Tombstone Blues, From a Buick 6, and the title track, which I never find myself getting super into or replaying. Every other track on here is world class and timeless. (Desolation Row is like my 5th favorite song of all time).

This is a pretty polarizing album. Songs like Road to Nowhere, Television Man and Lady Don't Mind are all-time favorites of mine and some of my favorite TH songs. But then there's Give Me Back My Name and Stay Up Late, which pretty much make it so I never listen to this album all the way through.

Giving 1 miscellaneous point because it's kinda unfair that On the Run tanks the overall rating. It's pretty meh on it's own but it works great within the flow of the album. The rest is classic for a reason.

Although his debut is widely considered his best work, I actually prefer this and The Future. I guess I like angry, bitter Cohen more than sentimental Cohen. Everybody Knows is probably within my 30 all-time favorite songs. The backing singers coming in near the end of Take This Waltz is one of the most gorgeous things I've heard in music.

So incredibly good. This is what people mean when they say that live Dead is miles better than studio dead (with the exception of American Beauty). I grew up with this album, so there is definitely some nostalgic bias, but the songs also sound so undeniably lush, with no single instrument overpowering another. They're gentle in all the right moments and intense in all the right ones.

Another slightly overhated Dead album, but I can kinda understand this one. Songs like Tons of Steel I can see being grating on the ears if you didn't grow up with them and have a reason to love them. Black Muddy River is gorgeous. Push Comes to Shove is the biggest miss but still enjoyable.
