HOLY FUCK, WHAT AN AMAZING BUILDUP AND CLIMAX. THIS GOES SO HARD. I really enjoyed drop dead but this fantastic, probably one of her best. Really hyped and optimistic for this album.
I'm a massive Dylan fan and I've always knew this was an amazing album; yet, for some reason, it has never been one I ever went back to like how I do with Blood On the Tracks. After a relisten, however, that is for sure gonna change. Some of these songs that never hit me that hard before really changed now, especially Queen Jane Approximately hit me in particular this time around. I have no idea how I never realized how beautiful that song is.
Hate that Wolves is one of the lowest rated here. That song is a masterpiece. However, the fact that it is is still in the 90s shows how exceptionally stunning this whole album is.
The greatest to ever do it. Forever. Unmatched. Legendary.
My album of the year at the moment (James Blake is very close), even if it is only remixes of old songs. Like everyone is saying, please let the next album be like this.
I really like the synthpop vibes she's going for. Actually looking forward to the album if it maintains this New Wave sound.
Some of the most beautifully written indie songs I've ever heard
Not bad at all, and I still really dig some of these songs, but it is my least favorite by them so far.
Holy, I really liked it the first time, but this second listen hit HARD for me.
Bradford Cox is truly one of the most gifted, yet unfortunately underrated, songwriters in the modern day. Also, maybe top 10 album covers I've seen (hate the Apple Music version).
Mockingbirds is one of my favorite song oat, but this whole album is fantastic.
Favs: Mockingbirds, Song Along, Honey Don't Think, and Side by Side.
Bridge Over Troubled Water MIGHT be the greatest song of all time.
Gorgeous vocals and production from start to finish. Favorite of the year thus far.
If they cut back or removed the autotune on some of these tracks, the album would've been so much stronger. It ranges from being fine to really noticeably bad on others (I.D.C. and One-Nine-Eight-Zero). However, when the heavy autotune isn't used, it is pretty great album from a band that has a really cool sound to them. I can definitely see whatever they do next improving upon this (at least I hope so), because it is already a promising start.
