This was a good album filled with simple melodies and hard-hitting lyrics. I liked how this project flowed and maintained a consistent style and theme throughout. Just like his debut, Dylan utilizes his guitar, piano, and charismatic voice to illustrate his lifestyle and the happenings of the times. I especially like Dylan's storytelling and almost spoken-word style that can be found on a wide array of tracks.

The best way to describe this is probably engaging. There isn't a single dull or boring stretch on this entire album. You never know what's going to come next, and it had me on the edge of my seat. Through listening to a few avant-garde jazz pieces, I found that I don't really like it. I can appreciate it for the most part, but it doesn't come close to smooth or cool jazz in my eyes. I don't know if I'm just stupid or not musically gifted, but it has always been hard to follow.

At first, I wanted to complain about this album being too short. 12 songs stretched under 25 minutes seems insane for today's standards. This album felt like it was essentially all filler, so it being longer wouldn't be ideal. Maybe condense the themes and tracks? But, this was their debut, so maybe I should look for the positives instead of the negatives. I fell in love with surf rock as a kid living on the east coast, and I've also seen The Beach Boys in concert a handful of times. So be ... read more

Ayyy my first album from a Minnesota legend. Folk has never been my favorite genre, it always reminded me of hillbillies and poverty. Over this last year, I realized, that America is pretty much full of hillbillies and poverty, so folk remains as relevant as ever. I've come to appreciate the genre much more, and now, I can view it as a cornerstone to American music. Maybe it's that newfound appreciation for folk, or just Dylan himself, but I really enjoyed this album. The harmonica's reminded ... read more

I enjoyed this album a lot more than I was expecting to. I don't speak a word of French and literally could not understand anything about this album. I google translated the title, and then the melodies and sound of the album made more sense. The melodies are what make this album. Lighthearted, warm, and enticing are all words that come to mind when trying to describe them. They are extremely catchy, and I found myself humming along and trying to pronounce the French words I could distinguish. ... read more

Hey there! I’m making a community list for the end of the world, and I would love for you to contribute.

“The surrounding buildings, in ruins. The remaining survivors, scrambling to find anything that remains. Fire flickers in the pitch-black, creating just a sliver of radiance. Miraculously, you find an old device that can play music. You can only play one album as the battery is nearly dead. Knowing that you have little time left, what is the one album that you choose to listen to as you watch the world crumble before your eyes?”

The album topic could discuss a disastrous time, its sound could fit the vibe of a post apocalyptic setting, or it could be one of your favorite albums that you would want to experience for the last time.

Please provide the artist, album, and an explanation as to why you chose that specific album.

Thank you for reading <3

I definitely understand your pick! DSOTM is an excellent album and one of the very few that I rated 100 on AOTY. It's a really interesting journey that goes through a lot of twists and turns. I remember the first time I listened to it, I don't really remember the name of that weird electronic interlude that goes before ''A Great Gig in the Sky'', but I thought: ''What the hell, this is so fun!'' lol

Interesting pick! I haven’t heard this one yet but I’ll make sure to because I’m a pop-punk guy! I’d say my favorite album of all time is probably "Stargazing for Beginners" by Pale Seas. I didn’t really know under which metrics to base my choice but I’ll use the emotional impact it had on me and the time I spent listening to it! How about you?

Hello, I love your album reviews.
My new EP, a very short one has just released. Will be grateful if you listen and review it. I need honest review, it could be harsh but I want to know what people thinks and how can I improve. There's is some Hindi Lyrics (very few) but the 90% of the album is English. Attaching the AOTY and Spotify link. Will be grateful forever if you respond. 🙏🙏
