really impressed. i liked brat a lot but this is way more my style
this is really solid. it's a bit silly at some points but that doesn't necessarily harm the project. shoutout mr doug martsch for the rec😛
slow start but really picks up with the title track. great percussion. great cover. spooky!
"is your brain big enough to get your feelings hurt?" very impressive and emotional but it admittedly get a little repetitive. great album cover.
sonically not even that bad but holy fuck is it cringe
not great. there are a few decent tracks but overall not really worth the listen
idk why i hadnt rated this yet. i've been a pavement guy for years but only over the past year have I really gotten into this album specifically. I feel bad saying a band's first record is their peak but this really is that. i'd argue most of the time that all of Pavement's records are 10s in their own right but S+E captures everything that makes these guys what they are. the loud, screeching bullshit with the slightly chiller, more melodic songs makes this listening ... read more
feels less confident than their other stuff but has some real good songs with that same vibe they had on projector
it's been said a million times but nobody's doing it like geese rn. outstanding rock music
fun poppy reggae, but it's really very basic. Many Rivers To Cross is great but I gotta say nilsson did it better... so did cher... and geese😭
i know my dad likes this album a lot but he's never played it for me, so I'd figure i'd give it a listen myself.
very stripped down for the most part which makes it feel very intimate. the simple jazz elements really let the vocals do what they're meant to. i wasn't super focused on the lyrics but i could absolutely feel the emotion. really good stuff
some real good shit here, but there are a good amount of skips. got a bunch of unique stuff here but the star wars sample towards the end, sick ass track, really stands out, it's really cool. give these guys some better equipment and teach em some theory and they'd have made some more really unique music no doubt
gotta preface this by saying killing people IS funny.
these guys were like my first introduction to punk music with punk rock girl but this is THE dead milkmen album. goofy, fun, catchy, and generally enjoyable. teacher played bitchin camaro in class today cause of my shirt and we started talking about punk stuff and he's like way more badass and swag than I thought he was. it's great when music brings people together man😊
this is just not that great. a hit or two... any major dude is one of their best. just mostly not very memorable and flat out boring tracks.
it's just so fucking good dude RIP walter. some extremely underrated dan tracks here. sign in stranger, the fez, haitian divorce... all incredible. also an all timer of an album cover
