Came for Trench 2, got something else. I feel so confused why this band seemingly can't escape the shadow of their best record but alas, here we are.
When I saw Numb on the tracklist, I thought it was going to be a new version of her 2018 track of the same name, or at worst a re-release of the track. I was very shocked to hear a Linkin Park cover.
I was pretty disappointed with this record overall. The only song that really clicked with me was My Mirror, and even then if this song was on a previous project of hers, it wouldn't be the highlight track like it is here.
Caroline didn't hold back on this record and it shows. I really like this darker and more vulnerable sound from here. This authenticity contrasts interestingly with her last album which felt over-glamourous in a good way. I didn't feel like the interludes added a ton, and I wasn't really feeling The Doldrums or The Kiss, but the highlights outshined the low points by a ton. Miami, Everywhere I go..., And Love Song For Myself were definitely the brightest of the bright spots.
Everything is more than fine on Matt Corby's newest LP. I have been looking forward to a new record from Mr. Corby for a really long time this didn't disappoint at all. I was hoping this record would take the direction of his 2020 single "If I Never Say A Word" and it didn't resemble it at all. So its really saying something that Matt Corby took a different direction than I would have wanted and still put out an album that I really liked. Tracks like Carry On, For Real, and Reelin ... read more
This album truly blew me away. On my first listen I didn't get it, which is partially why this review took me so long to make. I went into the album with my own expectations for what it should be, but that ended up being the wrong approach. This album has an uncompromising sound that makes this listener come in on its own terms. by the third listen I went in with no more expectations and was captivated by the sounds on this thing. The synths were so big throughout the whole record and every ... read more
The haters are wrong about this one. This album is great and The Beach slaps. I think my favorite songs are Meshuggah for that nasty groove and That Life. The vibes were great overall, my only critique is that it was a bit long and a few of the songs were only okay, but nothing on this was bad by any means.
I was vibing with this record up until the end of Billy Knows Jamie where the album broke. I'll need to call IT support to come and fix my copy of this record as the quality after that song went downhill and didn't recover until mememe.
Its me, hi. I'm the one who didn't love this album.
It will need, time. To grow on me if it wants a better score.
Jordana doesn't miss. Excellent and interesting indie pop. Defiantly would recommend
One of the best indie pop albums of the 2010's. Anyone who is a fan of the genre needs to listen to the song Premonitions!
This album is just too catchy to not like. Personally I loved end of the world vibes Foals but I'll happily settle for Miami Indie dance Foals
Wouldn't call it bad at all, but none of it impressed me. Can understand if people loved or hated this record. Personally I feel indifferent.
The second part in the Voices series of EP's for K.Flay. The last EP was energetic and unapologetic. This one is much more vulnerable, and honest. I always feel like K.Flay has two different sounds, the first EP was closer to Every Where Is Some Where and this EP being more similar to Solutions. Either way this one was good, I wasn't as blown away with this one as Inside Voices, but its a solid entry into her discography. Notable highlights on this album include the lead single, Nothing Can ... read more
