The album is well-made and I enjoyed while listening to it. The record feels cohesive and compact. However, I didn't find a single song that left any lasting impression.
Now about the lyrics... No matter how much FFAK tries to disown their past beliefs, their new messages don't even come close to the depth the band conveyed between 2013-2018 period. Perhaps it's just my opinion, but Fit For A King, along with their faith, has lost its identity, both in terms of sound and ... read more
Lately there have been a lot of releases of acidic overdriven metal with a post-apocalyptic theme, don't you think?
"Wasteland" struck me as a weak release, not as terrible as "STARSET - SILOS," but still. Maybe I just can't stand that style? However, there are good examples, like "Allt - From The New World," where the band clearly understood what they wanted to achieve. But this album, like most of its kind, is simply garbage that makes noise and ... read more
It's just a collection of covers of other artists' songs. I have no idea how to rate this, so I'll give it no higher than 50 points.
FAVORITE: not found :/
"Eulogies" is a pretty solid metalcore/alt-metal record, but there's a catch...
That's what I realized during my WATG marathon: these guys are a very mid band in the genre. Sure, you might find something good in their discography. But I don't really feel like delving into it.
FAVORITE: Deadwight, Weight of Glory.
It turns out the band decided to abandon its experimental side and play straight-up aggressive metalcore. That's not to say there aren't progressive elements on the album, but they're now presented with caution.
I liked the end result. I'm sure Facedown Records is more excited than ever being War of Ages' label.
FAVORITE: Laodicea, Famine, Armageddon.
Essentially, it's the same progressive metalcore from Void, but more polished. However, there are some surprises like the Architects-core moments in "Sleight of Hand."
FAVORITE: Sleight of Hand.
In search of themselves guys seem to have gone into deep wilds, lol. Now they're definitely playing progressive metalcore.
Before the War of Ages album marathon I didn't like Void. But now, considering their entire discography, it's a real gem for me.
FAVORITE: Jezebel, Sulphure and Salt, Miles Apart, Brotherhood.
War of Ages continued their path into progressive metalcore. On this album they moved even further away from their classic sound. Alpha feels fun and I really like that the band hasn't stayed stagnant.
FAVORITE: Buried Alive, Hollow Point, Repentance.
The band began to slowly move away from their classic sound, what is visible even in the cover art, which has changed its style. In some songs guys blends their new ideas with the sound of Fit For A King from the Creation/Destruction era.
And yeah, for me this album was a breath of fresh air after the monotonous melodic metalcore of their previous records.
FAVORITE: Lost in Apathy, Amber Alert, From Ashes.
Return to Life is a typical melodic metalcore album. It differs from Eternal in its frequent use of lead guitar.
Frankly, I was already tired of the War of Ages' marathon on this album. The problem is that melodic metalcore has nothing to offer beyond what it is, and this band was steadily moving in that direction.
FAVORITE: Silent Night, Song of Solomon.
Clean vocals appeared, ideas began to realize more confidently. The album feels more alive and interesting than anything War of Ages had done before it.
FAVORITE: Eternal, Failure.
Arise and Conquer is good for the melodic metalcore of its time. I found it pretty monotonous, albeit well-made.
FAVORITE: Wages Of Sin.
The recording quality has improved, the guitars are fatter. However, the problem is the monotonous 00's arrangements; they could have been better. But overall, the album feels higher above its predecessor Pride of the Wicked and I even liked it.
FAVORITE: Brothers In Arms.
A blend of groove metal and melodic metalcore, with the latter dominating. The album doesn't offer anything new; you can find similarities with other bands. But it's a decent debut, especially for its time.
FAVORITE: Bitter Sweet.
Rock/metal with an extremely aggressive electronic component. Umm... Idk, it's not bad, but pretty boring for me.
FAVORITE: Into The Dark.
I didn't have high expectations for "The Sky, The Earth & All Between," but what I heard left a very mixed impression.
The singles are generic, acidic and a lot loud. The other album's stuff is just typical alt metal, but at least I like it more than the singles. "FTTWTE" feels a cut above this album.
Collaborating with Jordan Fish was definitely a misstep. What worked with BMTH doesn't work with Architects, because that band has a completely different ... read more
Idk what guys were thinking when they created this album. Musically, as many have noted, it's pretty boring alt-metal. Is this a terrible record? No. It's just completely pointless.
FAVORITE: burn down my house.
Compared to what Architects has done before, this album feels controversial. However, if you set aside the past and appreciate it on its own, it's truly a GOOD piece of work.
On the one hand, the album has some interesting musical solutions, but on the other, it's a bit drawn-out and overly polished, which is not a good thing. But overall, I really like what Architects created here, especially compared to the failure that comprehended them later.

Holy Hell is the best thing Architects could have done since AOGHAU. Such a high-quality, powerful and strong-sounding album.
All Our Gods... was a kind of descent into oblivion, where there is only anger, grief and meaninglessness. "Holy Hell" is when everything valuable has already burned to the ground, and now you're wondering how to live and move on. At the time, this album became a great discovery for me, during a dark period of my life.
I don't know if there's ... read more
Listening to it was a painful experience. This album is something you don't want to return to often; it's only suited for certain moments when you're suffering. It's the most emotional and powerful album by Architects, metalcore, and metal in general. However, the first four songs ruined the overall experience for me.
FAVORITE: Gravity, Gone With The Wind, All Love Is Lost, Memento Mori.
