Couldn’t bring myself to listen to this whole thing it’s not worth the time

Megadeth - Youthanasia

Megadeth was always meant to be a groove/oshm band and you can’t change my mind. While this album isn’t as good as RIP, it feels much more natural and fitting. Dave’s vocals are actually pretty damn good, the riffs are sick, Marty Friedman is here and everything is working great together. This album is basically Ghost but better, to put in a mixer lense.

Dawg this album ROCKS y’all are tripping. The mix sounds pretty terrible, but not bad enough to make the album as bad as I’ve heard it described. It’s their most ferocious album since RIB by far and the riffs are so badass. The drumming just isn’t the same, though. Really missing Lombardo on here.

Favorite Song: Serenity In Murder

I’ve never really dove deep into Grunge before, but this is still some of the most boring and predictable stuff I’ve heard in the genre. Also, who thought this was a good idea? Thrash Metal going full on Nirvana is such a strange thought, but I guess it paid off. I hate the existence of this album, but the music really ain’t that bad. If you ignore that this is the same band that made Among The Living, it’s probably much better.

Megadeth are one of the big thrash bands who landed the switch to groove metal very smoothly. This album sounds like what they were always meant to be. That doesn’t mean it’s the best they’ve sounded by any means, but it sounds the most natural. Some songs on this album are pretty bad though. Seriously, who let them release Sweating Bullets. Also Dave’s vocals are seriously awful here. I can’t tell if he’s joking around or just actually getting that much ... read more
