Pretty great performances with unusually pretty uninteresting production more often than you'd think. Some great highlights but overall just decent.

Richard Sallis - Casino
75

Pretty good production and vocal passion but the performances are occasionally a little lackluster and the mix can be a little rough at times.

S.A.V. - Thicker Than Water
85

Some very good rapping with decent production even though some beats feel pretty dated from time to time. The writing is usually decent but occasionally really corny.

Cibe - Art Noise

I respect the skill in it and I respect the art in it but this is just unfortunately so so so not for me. Its very noisy, as the name suggests, but I'm just not really a fan of ambient music where there isn't all that much musicality to the actual music and to me thats what this project feels like to me. It's not appalling, its not really all that bad but its just not something I'm that into.

dred4 - margini

Not breaking any new ground and still a bit amateurish but overall this is a decently charming little instrumental hiphop project. Nice on the ears and has some occasional linear elements that help elevate some of these beats.

A$AP Rocky - PUNK ROCKY

god damn if all of dbd is up to this standard of quality we're in for a potential aoty this is so good. The production is simple but works great, and the singing is phenomenal, really has a great vibe and feel.

if last year's dnwlp was the embodiment of chaos, this album is taking that chaos and concentrating it, refining it and shooting it out of a cannon. Just like its predicessor, this album is funny, witty, and jaw droppingly creative, but in a way that feels much more honed in and refined. Some of the beats on here are borderline conventional, which I think works wonders to make this project feel a lot more cohesive. It also feels a lot more lush in pockets than their last, with these ... read more

Cal Chuchesta - WHODUNNIT?

suprisingly listenable

loopcinema - My-Lovely-Yellow-Kombi

don't be fooled by the short track list length and the classification of "EP", this is a big project, and each song is a multi-phase journey, with so many different musical ideas and techniques in every track. The production is ethereal and beautiful, which is complemented well by the vocals which are great as usual. Just in awe of the creativity on display here, fantastic project.

Mihal Lunar - Repaint the Stars
80

Very chill, very relaxing instrumental song. Love the production it has a very spacey vibe that I enjoy a lot.

CABALLERO KNIGHT - COCKROACHES
80

Really nice beat and great energy and delivery on the lyrics side.

CNC - Christmas Stick
75

Pretty good even if repetitive and a little stale by the end. Production is definitely a highlight, and mix is good.

ISSBROKIE - SWAGGOT! (B SIDE)
78

A LOT more variation than Swaggot while also just being a lot better done performance and production wise overall??? Idk why this wasn't just the original but wtv ig. Still has some issues that carry over and is a lot more inconsistent than the original but the highs are at least 5 times higher than the highs on Swaggot. Starting the year off with.. a bang..?

Highsenberg - Homecoming
70

Pretty relaxing ambient. First track is great but the rest don't really do much for me aside from being generally relatively pleasant. Not bad, not amazing or blowing my socks off or anything

CABALLERO KNIGHT - WHAT THE HELL IZ A CABALLERO KNIGHT?!!
75

While I can't speak too much on the lyrical content, and certain vocal effects and choices still don't really hit for me, and the project is a little long, overall this project is actually quite decent. Some very unique production choices mixed with some interesting samples and great vocal delivery make this thing a pretty fun listen all things considered. Some songs hit harder than others, but there is a ton of variety which helps a little with the length.

haosthatmask - 0 Days Left on Earth
69

His voice and energy are doing a lot of heavy lifting here bc his delivery is often pretty awkward and the writing is generally decent, but occasionally head scratching. Great production throughout tho and the features also do great, but major room for improvement.

Lil Uzi Vert - What You Saying
75

good but the sample does feel poorly utilized here. Uzi's singing sounds really good here tho i'll give them that

CABALLERO KNIGHT - digital knights
69

The beat is decent but the delivery of the vocals with the autotune gets a little grating after a while for me. Also once again the mix is a little choppy but the song is alright. Not something I would return to tho

CABALLERO KNIGHT - RED LIFE LIFE RED LED RIFE RIFE LED
75

The song is a little weirdly mixed, and some of the autotune doesn't quite work for me, but the beat switch in the last part is genuinely great. The production is experimental and decent throughout, and the flows vary but overall are pretty good.

Quelle Chris & Chris Keys - Innocent Country 2
90

Impeccably produced, well written with a truly stacked feature list, this project is pretty damn great. There are a few less good tracks on here that probably could have been cut, but overall a great album from quelle.

"Respect the opinion but I feel like it's a little weird to say whenever ghais does trap it doesn't work out considering his entire career has had major trap influence. Also I'm ngl I don't think I would call any of what hes rapped on before "jazz production" but that's definitely more up for debate."
