The New BRACE/FACE album is out now. I wrote a little bit about my feelings towards this album, and i'll attach it here as well.
"...Its not me, persay, but an exaggerated version of myself. This person is self destructive, narcissistic, egotistical. And by the end of the album, they're broken, left shouting into the void incoherently. This person is in ... read more
This project is pretty good, but feels a little dated. The production is generally decent, and the vocals (while they did take a bit to grow on me) are actually pretty decent throughout.
i love how they fake you out with the trap beat switch just to go doubly as hard after. Denzel goes insane here, and overall the track is a hard ass time. Great production, great vocals from all parties.
its ok, but often falters for me a little in the... "poppy"-er moments. (HAH! funny). I like a lot of the metal sections but the vocals sound a little bit too touched up/polished for me personally. Like it feels very artificial but not in a way that is intentional or an artistic style. Not bad, but not great.
its alright. not amazing but not horrible, pretty okay. production is decent. rapping is ok but a little awkward sounding at times. not bad.
Some great songs on here but despite the versalitility I honestly feel like it lacks a clear and distinct voice. A lot of these songs just, sound like good songs. I would never be able to guess it was Madison Beer specifically. The music is good tho. Love a lot of the very sweet sounding production especially.
Joji has created here what amounts to a collection of vignettes. Some are good, some are alright and some are unbearably boring. Fortunately, having such a disjointed and fast moving tracklist helps alleviate this issue, since every song goes by in the blink of an eye. Unfortunately, this style causes most songs to feel like they are a minute or so away from being a real song. Not a bad album at all, and I very much see what its going for. Doesn't really make it any less of an uneven ... read more
It's the most j cole j cole album to have ever been created. Which is fitting, especially if it's his last. Has hints of pretty much every style he's ever tried and has some (occasionally mixed quality) but mostly pretty great introspective bars. I love the songs where cole just goes off on a subject and he sounds hungry here, like he has something to prove. That being said, I think this thing is probably way too long, and has some pretty boring stretches. Not bad at all, and ... read more
a pretty fun ep with some great production and hit or miss vocals from caballero knight. The tracks that work are great, I love some of the more ethereal sounds that are being played around with here. The tracks that don't.... ehhh.... Overall a decent ep.
sighhhhhhhhh..... See I feel like there is so much to love about a lot of the songs on the album here, but a lot of it just feels like filler. Its not bad, its just not really anything..?? I guess it just hasn't clicked for me yet. The intro run is pretty cool up until Tiramisu, then it gets pretty boring for a bit until the teezo song, but then it never really feels like the album gets back to the same level as those first 3-4 tracks. Not horrible, but just not all that interesting off ... read more
Thought this was great off of first listen but I really feel like there is a lot more to dig into with these songs than the surface level. Need to relisten at some point but for right now I would say this about met my expectations.
best brokie project in a while imo. BLCKK is amazing on every song, and brokie, while usually pretty great on most of the tracks here, is a little more inconsistent. The beat choices are great, I am BEYOND ecstatic that its a more trap metal oriented project, and overall I found this to be a fun time. Nothing mind blowing, but overall a fun, normal sized album with two skits and consistently good songs. Thats all I ever wanted brokie thank you now release the shteppi album please
funky as all hell and I wasn't really sure how yachty would fit on here but he does great. great single
Overall a decently mixed bag. I appreciate the experimentation here a lot, and there is excelent variety in all the different tracks. That being said, the production feels decently repetetive a lot of the time and oftentimes sounds very videogame-y, which is mostly attributed to the sound selection. The three track run from SPIT to EXILE is excelent, and the outro is also decent but a lot of the inbetween feels pretty middling. Overall, not bad at all for a debut, but a lot of room for ... read more
Definitely has a very repetitive style (as is the norm with most rage music) but feels decently faithful to the style while also having its own sound. It definitely does feel a little amatuerish in some regards, and the mix (despite how distorted the bass is) does come off as a little flat to my ears, like it needs a little boost or smth to make it go harder. That being said, this is a pretty decent listen all things considered.
