Where do I even begin...
In this album Tyler experiments more than any other album. He explores an area completely outside of his previous works, although there are moments where he applies his style of rap in the sound of IGOR, this is mainly a "fusion album" as it blends various genres and varies incredibly on the production from soul, a sort of experimental / alternative hip hop and sometimes even lofi??? In some aspects he really takes on many influences, clearly Pharrell and ... read more
the production is really good, this album really takes a lot from "Yeezus", the rapping is provocative, but not the kind to get canceled (THANK GOD), the first half is definitely stronger than the second one. You can feel the pain as the sentences are written and the verses are sung, the pain of "losing" a friend, or of being helpless in the face of all these normalized social ... read more
It's a solid album I guess????
Don Toliver approached this album having in mind a certain musical landscape, opting for more of an electronic sound, raw samples, loud bass etc.. Except for some highs, the entire album dries up quickly, if you're not a don toliver's diehard I doubt this album will stay in rotation for a long time, except for a couple of songs, even the feature don't spice up the mix that much. That being said it's still solid, Don changed the soundscape ... read more
