I owe J. Cole an apology for comparing him to Drake and Kendrick when I should have just enjoyed his music. I've always thought he was "pretty good", but I now realize he has some real masterpieces in his discography.
I had a hunch that this would be some good shit from the music video, and I was glad that many other songs matched its lyrical flows. Like Don't Be Dumb, The Fall-Off is a reflection of how an artist has grown and matured throughout their career. I ... read more
I'm actually in shock that this album came out in 1987, it sounds WAY ahead of its time. The instrumentals are pristine, Sinéad's vocals are powerful and emotional, and the concise nature of this album all leave few overall flaws. Sounds a bit derivative of other recent electropop releases like WGIA and brat but there's enough diversity in beats and tempo that it makes for a very enjoyable listen. Also Korea is top 3 on this album idk why it's rated so low.

I'n not gonna lie I had a lot of fun with this album but I do understand why people call it mid, especially towards the end it kind of dies off and his flow becomes grating and a bit dull, which is ironic considering the hardcore production. His single releases were the highlights in my opinion, and babygirl is honestly way better than its track score suggests.
Overall this was probably a bad introduction into Peggy, but I liked it enough to where I want to listen to his other stuff.
