Wait Taylor is actually good?? All of this internet dogpiling combined with her lackluster recent releases made me think she was an overrated artist and her fans were delusional brainwashed cult members, and while I do think they still are on some level, there's a reason they became obsessed with her music in the first place. The production is squeaky clean, the songwriting is a little shallow at some points, but still overall good. Who knew.
Talented, brilliant, incredible, amazing, show stopping, spectacular, never the same, totally unique, maybe not completely not ever been done before but still potty goof I guess
One thing that ties my favorite artists together is that they show who they are through their music. They open up to their audience their flaws, their struggles, their triumphs and failures, almost like a diary. This album is the quintessential example of the artist serving themselves up on a plate and saying, "This is me."
Little Simz is not only a talented rapper rivaling the likes of Missy Elliot, Lil Kim, and (dare I say?) Lauryn Hill, she Is really good at writing songs that ... read more
My friend made fun of me the other day for saying that I liked Charli xcx but had only listened to Brat and Withering Heights, so I picked the album with "party 4 u" because I really like that song. Safe to say I actually enjoyed it the most out of all her albums.
I couldn't help but feel and overwhelming sense of sadness despite all of the happy songs. I guess the emotion she encorporated into this album just hit me deeper.
I'd also like to mention the production, which ... read more
I like how natural her voice sounds compared to most other country artists who try to exaggerate their accent to please their fans. Overall enjoyed the experience, and there's very little bloat which seems to be an ongoing problem with modern country releases.
Someone speaking directly into my ear in Mandarin with lots of reverb like a voice from the heavens was something I didn't know I needed.
Really liked the title track, the rest were good to just meh. I prefer this to the remix album because I think she fits in more with this type of production.
First time listening to this band, and I really like their sound. Plus they had some good moments on this album, especially with their title track. The deployability of this is honestly amazing, and I could see this growing on me in the future.
This album made me feel many emotions. Primarily confusion, sadness, and awe. But one emotion I didn't feel at all whatsoever was boredom. This album was thoroughly engaging for its entire runtime, which can't be said for every album coming out currently. This was certainly an experience and I'm glad to have had it.
This isn't boring at all I thoroughly enjoyed myself throughout this project. Beats? Fire. Lyrics? Personal. Features? Honestly kind of lackluster besides SZA. But overall a very pleasant listen.
As someone who hasn't listened to their other albums, I was surprised at the instrumental focus and how soft the vocals were especially compared to the other midwest emo albums I've heard. I thought Bad Moons was really good, but otherwise I wan't too wowed by their performance. And that's okay.
Wow after what feels like forever I can finally add another perfect rating to my account!
The first think that comes to my mind when I think about this album is joy. Just pure, unfiltered emotion. It can cure some of the worst days of my life, even though I have no idea what the lead singer is saying most of the time. And I almost don't want to look up the lyrics, because I feel like the vague vocals add to the magic of this album for me.

Wait why did I kinda like this
Her samples were interesting because she literally sampled Carmelldansen I was very surprised when that came on. There were some other samples like Monster which is even older than her and I find that pretty funny
And I didn't realize until after I listened that only she produced the album??? At 12 years old??? And that Vocaloid tag at the beginning of each track was her...

Where I am right now Noah Kahan has in a chokehold; pretty much everyone I know has him in their playlist for driving/walking, so it was hard not to listen to this album.
I'd say I'm satisfied with the content overall, and there's no offensively bad song anywhere in sight, but it sort of felt like listening to the same song over and over again for 77 minutes.
I can see why I feel this way, as folk albums are often accompanied by a few instruments and have less wiggle room in ... read more
This is certainly one of the albums of all time. Every decent to good song was met with another mediocre to bad song. My life has not changed for the better or worse after a listen.
Also I genuinely thought Spit Shine was originally titled Shit Spine and it seems I accidentally created a more accurate title for that track.
I'm a fan of the quirky little production bits scattered throughout the album, it really brings a lot of character to an otherwise pretty standard but quality indie pop record.
Really interesting to listen to an album in a new language. I don't understand any of what they're saying, but I can still heat the emotion in their voices. I like how despite a consistent African influence/sound each track is wholly unique in its style. I'm a sucker for layered instrumentals and this album is not lacking in that department. As someone who doesn't always enjoy longer tracks, Ayaba Oxum somehow made the 9 minutes feel like 3.
Pretty cool how these versions still sound like NIN songs but have their own flavor to them.
