At least it kept me from falling asleep at the wheel. Nothing too special but I did like Legion quite a bit.
Really interesting type of music that I'm not too familiar with, it did get a little overwhelming at times but overall it was a really good listen!
Was this album produced in space? And Jameela Jamil is credited as a producer? Seriously what is going on with that?
Anyway it's a super beautiful, ethereal record with amazing production and sweet vocals. The features (at least those who are credited) I think added a lot to the piece and yeah, this absolutely mogs Jack Harlow out of the atmosphere.
I get how this album is supposed to have a smooth, relaxed tone, but Harlow's singing voice sounds almost bored. The instrumental is also a bit too generic for me as if they were made by AI to sound like R&B. Still a nice listen overall.
Another Star sounds like a 10/10 anime opening and I can't stop thinking about that.
Yeah I'm sorry this is just not for me. It was listenable but probably wouldn't want to put it on again.
Rage isn't known for having a ton of acclaimed albums, but this definitely stands as one of the few. The beats are energetic, his voice took a bit for me to tolerate but now I like it, and the transitions between the tracks are super clean and I can tell he put a lot of thought into it. I generally don't like rage as a genre but this is a standout for me.
Probably shouldn't have listened to this as my first introduction to Denzel Curry but I have to say I'm a bit disappointed. It's still a decent project, but the bangers didn't bang enough and the slow tracks were repetitive instead.
I hope they will do better in the future.
He's good, just not my style and there are a few small things that put me off a bit.
I liked Aperture but there was a seriously long stretch of mid songs soon after which kinda turned me off of the whole thing. I wish Harry's voice wasn't so lost in the instrumental; he has a seriously killer voice that I wish he showed off on at least some sections of the album.
I guess by extension I have to review this. But seriously, I've never heard a more consistent album. There isn't any one song that feels weaker compared to the others, they're all pretty great, in fact. Some exceedingly catchy beats with some recognizable references combined with some based lyrics makes for an overall great time.
Disco Tomorrow though is something else. Damn that song is phenomenal.
Not gonna lie all you need is a B.O.B. reference and I'm hooked.
Wow. I love the gradual progression of sound and volume that occurs in these tracks, and the only think that could make this better if there were more songs of similar quality to make it a full album!!
I'm sorry you guys but I'm going to have to go with the crowd on this one. I'm not expecting an artist to evolve their sound with every album but they should at least make it distinct from your other outputs. To me this album is kind of like cotton candy, where the first bite tastes good but subsequently becomes overwhelmingly sweet to the point where you can't finish it all. Bruno's voice definitely keeps me from rating this album below a 60 though, it's just too ... read more
85 -> 92
Idk what I was on when I first rated this an 85. I think I was just bored by the slightly slower beginning and ending. But now after a relisten I've come to appreciate it as a statement and not just the big hits (which are amazing btw).
This album with such beautiful sounds and instrumentation (not to mention Mistki's honey-like vocals) has lyrics that are so haunting and unsettling. TikTok better not lobotomize these tracks.
