Still remember very distinctly my first time listening to this album. On track one I kept thinking, "hey so when is the song gonna start?". How times have changed!
The instrumentals are pretty unbelievable. Just think the vocals are holding it back slightly, it's a little pitchy at times. The song writing and compositions here though are fantastic.
The microtonal stuff is super cool, honestly just every song needed to be like half the length, they drag a lot. I think the loop pedal is actually holding them back in terms of how dynamic the progressions can be. I would prefer to see the guitarist mess around with the parts in post and leave the looping for live performances. Really cool though and super unique.
Just rating the 2 new tracks - enjoyable additions to the main album, but I only see myself returning to Melisa on future album listens. I think learning to swim drags the overall pacing a little
Bit hit or miss but the vibes on some of these tracks are pure deep house magic. The skits really kill the pacing for me though
This album is filled with such joy, love, and pure humanity. It's a true celebration of life itself.
