Danny Brown - Stardust
84

If Quad is on the album then I will be there!!

You can tell how much of a better place Danny is in now based on how upbeat and full of life this album is. A really interesting new direction for him fairly deep into his career. Can’t wait to see him explore this sound further!

Radiohead - In Rainbows
100

This was Radiohead's peak. 8 of the 10 songs are 10/10s for me. That might be the highest ratio of any album I've ever listened to. The amount of generational songs on here is just insane. No other album sounds like this. This is what you get when arguably the greatest band of all time hits their creative peak. You get In Rainbows.

D'Angelo - Voodoo
95

Rest in peace

D'Angelo - Unshaken
100

But you said you knew Spanish

Tame Impala - Deadbeat
76

Had kinda hoped for more. Really liked end of summer and Dracula so was quite curious to see how Kevin would approach this dance-pop / electronic style, but there’s just so much filler in the middle of this album. Most tracks are pretty forgettable. Definitely not “bad”, just a bit boring.

Sade - Love Deluxe
97

Can’t believe I had this at an 87. What an album

Maruja - Pain to Power
92

Just remarkable. The EPs have all built to this moment. The amount of raw emotion across this album is truly gut-wrenching.

The Stone Roses - The Stone Roses
93

Infectious! Incredible guitar tones

Geese - 3D Country
92

Catchy, but still experimental and boundary pushing. Will probably grow on me further. Cameron Winter is one of the most interesting and unique vocalists I’ve ever heard.

Parcels - Overnight
90

Daft Punk's final gift to the world of music is a truly special one. Brought together by incredible performances across the whole Parcels band.

Eagles - Hotel California
76

A lot of mid, but 3 songs that I really like! (Hotel California, Life in the Fast Lane, Try and Love Again)

Laufey - A Matter of Time
48

She has done much better before. I think the emotional impact she’s going for on a lot of these songs feels unearned to be honest, just doesn’t do it for me. The jazz influences from the last album also are much less prevalent here, and the tracks that do embrace that are easily my favourites. Lover girl is also great.

Joey Valence & Brae - HYPERYOUTH
88

Listened to this poolside in France. So so good

KAYTRANADA - AIN'T NO DAMN WAY!
84

Another 5 ish tracks for my playlists to make me seem cool
KAYTRANADA always curates a unique type of vibe that it seems only he can successfully pull off. While his efforts aren’t perfect on this project, with a few directionless tracks in the middle, his return to sampling focused production with stronger house aesthetics results in really enjoyable highs.

Freddie Gibbs - Alfredo 2
83

Some of the alchemist beats get a bit repetitive, drags the project down a bit in my opinion
