I love the Red Hot Chili Peppers niche; 3 of the best musicians on their respective instruments of their generation, and then the most random and ridiculous lyrics ever mixed in with them.
This is a cool album. I enjoy the first half quite a lot, but man did it lose me in the second half. I found pretty much every song past midnight to just be "okay" (apart from Venice Queen). Pretty high peaks though
This was pretty fun! Some of the dubstep aesthetics here weren’t for me, but equally I found a lot of them really cool. Hardgroove Skrillex wasn’t something I knew I needed but zeet noise is easily my favourite on the whole album so
Did someone say weird fishes???
Decent, and enjoyable, but the new songs don't really hold a candle to the ones from the original album.
Cool switchup from the last two singles, overall very excited for the full project
Assumptions is an genuinely one of the best house / dance songs I've ever heard. That synth line is absolutely infectious. I will never get tired of it.
I wonder what daft punk at this time would think if you played them Get Lucky
The New Wave being the first Daft Punk song is super interesting. That and Assault are both so heavily rooted in acid house and techno, so seeing where they have progressed from there is really cool. And I actually quite like both tracks too. Plus Alive is on here and Alive is just an incredible song anyway. Not counting it in this rating though because that would just be unfair :)
This is gonna be a tricky one.
I’ve never really been into this kind of music before, so this whole album was pretty eye opening for me. I love the way metal and shoegaze are blended in here, and I think it’s the gazey elements that make me enjoy this more. The riffs are crazy, and some of the crescendos on here are genuinely nuts.
If you look at my ratings for each song though, you would expect a higher overall rating. But for me, this kind of vocal performance, and the drumming, ... read more
Some really cool tracks on here, but there is wayyyyy too much mid dragging the whole thing down
Kendrick definitely improves this song, wish this version was on the original album
Kendrick went crazy in part 1, something about Cole on alright just doesn’t sound right though
This is the most insane foreshadowing for the Kendrick Cole beef ever
Not sure any album has ever made me feel quite so emotional
