I'm beginning to realize that Beach House is one of those bands whose songs are unfortunately really hit or miss. The misses are disappointing, but when they hit it's generational every time. This album unfortunately had some misses and only a few REAL hits for me, but it's enough to make it a good album π.
not Dark Side of the Moon, but it's unique in the way only Pink Floyd can be. Didn't blow me away like anything on DSOTM did, so yeah. Sorry aoty golden child...
Its an aight song, idk Ive never been that huge of a fan of Beyonce's. Yeah the message is pretty clear with this one, cheaters suck and girls should be girl bosses and leave em behind, which is VALID.
This isn't for everyone, and it definitely isn't for me. So yes, this is highly overrated imo. HOWEVER, some of the songs have grown on me, but some just take the vocal inflections way too far to the point where it's just obnoxious.
God i actually have no time for music anymore. Anyways this album is really hit or miss, mainly cuz it gives off some 80's pop vibes, which I'm kinda not the hugest fan of in general? But if you like that then this is great cuz it's that combined with some really good shoegaze. The hits on this thing really do it for me though, even if it's only half of the total tracks.
I think I put this off for so long because I thought it was aoty slop and that it was long. Uh yeah I was kinda wrong on both whoops. I don't think I need to talk about how ahead of their time Pink Floyd is and how good this album is because I'm sure many more people have done it before better than I ever could. But for how insanely respected this album is, I'm pleasently surprised that it met those expectations. Some of these songs are genuinely so beautiful and I'm very ... read more
Airiel is quickly becoming the most consistent/my favorite shoegaze band. You could complain that their songs sound a lil samey but yk what they're good at something and they stick to it, but at the same time for 4 song EP, it could be a bit more varied lol. On top of that the songs are all a bit dragged out, which I get is to allow for the instrumentals to shine, but maybe they could be a bit shorter? Idrk so no points off for that lol. But yeah I WILL be listening to more Airiel because ... read more
Heard City Moon and decided to try the whole album cuz I like shoegaze. Uhhh yeah this was pretty dissapointing especially because City Moon was the intro, so the rest of it was just kinda mid. The instrumentals are fine I guess but the singing just isn't it a lot of the time.
This makes my heart swell, like the rest of Delorians' catalogue.
The singing could be a little more varied, but all in all a nice calming song!
Godddd this just makes you want to hold the person you love so tight, and that's what all good shoegaze should make you want to do. It does all that and more, and is beutiful despite it's over 9 minute runtime, which is hardly even felt.
This song means a lottttt to me. So much so that I don't listen to it more because I don't feel like crying all the time... yeah there's lore. But yeah its such a beautiful song that really makes you think of that special someone :D
Another nostalgia bomb for me by Tame Impala, as again, these were some of the very first songs in my playlist. I do wish that the first half was as strong as the second though, but regardless, this displays essentially all of the many great qualities of Currents, but brings something fresh nonetheless.
These were some of the first songs ever added to my playlist, so there's a LOT of nostalgia embedded in this album for me. On top of that, it's just really freaking good. The production is genuine witch-craft and Tame Impala's performances are so passionate and full of life you can feel them through your headphones.
A combination of two very good things, the Japanese language and shoegaze. Nah but seriously this was great and surprisingly emotional for somereason. The singing is probably what did it for me because there's just so much passion behind it, and you can really hear it in the singer's voice in a way that trancends language. And the production just matches that energy so well.
Ok I'm starting to realize that this guy has one of the greatest discographies in all of rap, if not of all time. I've listened to most of it and am yet to be dissapointed, but one bad project and ruin that lol. Anyways, this album was yet another great one. The production is always quality on JAY-Z albums of course and this was no different. I think the highlight to me though was probably all the different flows he used and the way in which he incorporated samples into both the ... read more
Unlike the title kinda suggested to me, this is a super chill ambient album which is unlike anything I've ever heard. This album really impressed me with the prudction, which was definently the standout. It's so whimsical and unique and airy (just trust me). I don't speak Korean but some people translated the lyrics, and from the little research I did, it appears that the lyrics are pretty meaningful too so that's a plus for sure.
This album is all in Japanese lol so I'm just gonna talk about the feeling it gives off as a whole. It feels like the innocence that comes from a pure love. It's corny, I know, but that's the only way I could think to describe it. Maybe it's the singer's voice or the lovely instrumentals but this album just sounds like purity itself. Love is pure, and as long as you have that, you don't need anything else. And I feel like that motif of holding onto love is made ... read more
Where do I even begin. One of the coolest albums I've listened to in a long time. Haven't really heard anything else like it, but it does remind me a lot of Dean Blunt, especially in the production (I like this more than Dean Blunt though as the production is more varied). Yeah the production was very unique and captivating, but lyrically... it's gonna take me a while to get everything. I was listening to this in health class and halfway through the album I kinda realized that i ... read more
