Massive Conspiracy Against All Life, while not as emotionally potent to me due to not being as evil in sound as The Tenth Sub Level of Suicide or as unbelievably depressing as the Lurker of Chalice self-titled, stands out in Jef Whitehead's discography even amongst the other two, being by far the most brutal and relentless record out of the three.
This was recommended to me by @luancardoso and I'm not gonna sugarcoat it, I've at least enjoyed pretty much every piece of music ... read more
Deleted my old review because it was so goddamn awful holy fuck

I still stand by my word that this record is 33 minutes longer than it should be - call me a poser all you want, track 5 is still one of the most boring pieces of music ever conceived. I don't care if you're gonna argue about its importance for dungeon synth, the opener does it better, the record did not need 25 minutes of bland no substance noise and it doesn't hold up in terms of ... read more
Thanks for the rec @Gaynebula
Gothic metal isn't exactly my thing and I'm not too versed into the genre or what to expect from it, so I guess that might explain why I didn't like this all that much to begin with. The sinister violent tone that all of these songs share is ... read more
Edit: 70 -> 80. Replay value wasn't that big of an issue and this has turned into a favorite of mine.
I'll start this review off by descending into the cliché of saying that The Longing is by far more of an experience than just an album, and I mean it not as pretentious praise, but rather in a literal way, in the sense that it really is something you can only appreciate if you truly commit to it. Unless you make an actual effort and dedicate a proper front to back listen ... read more
