To explain why Toxicity is a 10 to me is how extremely consistent it is through the whole experience. Many nü metal albums have a few hits that can absolutely rival some songs off this album, but i find not many of them stay consistent through the whole album. Toxicity feels like what would be a greatest hits album from a band decades into their career but it was a sophomore album. It flows very well and all the songs stand well on their own. Weezer’s absolute peak and magnum opus. My favorite track would have to be the opener Tired of Sex. Love how raw it is.
So many people talk about rivers’ raw lyrical content on this album and it’s certainly interesting but what really draws me to this album are the musical elements. willow: i love the sound design on this one. the production makes all the instruments stand out and it makes my ears feel nice. “But I come back stronger than a 90s trend” is kinda hilarious ngl. Also noting that I like the drums a lot here
