The definition of well executed jazz rap

Charles Mingus - Let My Children Hear Music
NR

More than 15 years after his initial success, Charles Mingus still surprises us with well developped and embellished landscapes depicted by his masterful vision and musical talent.

Cannibal Ox - The Cold Vein
NR

Wow! What a discovery this is! I'll listen to their other music because it must be as good! Spoiler Alert!! It's not

Kendrick Lamar - Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers

Kendrick’s best album I feel like it’s his meditative view of the world after the rage of TPAB and it’s beautiful and calming.

Edit: I was wrong

Quadeca - I Didn't Mean to Haunt You
NR

This is an incredible step forward for Quadeca that solidifies him as a full blown artist and not a youtube rapper as he was referenced before. Everyone knew he was capable of making an amazing song with sisyphus but it took everyone off guard when he translated his talent into a cohesive concept album about himself being a ghost leaving with him behind a scenic yet haunted sound that meshed perfectly with the theme and showed us his incredible creativity. It made me think a lot about Flower ... read more

Smashing pumpkins discography #1 - Gish

Just started listening to this band with their debut album and I need to say that this was fucking incredible like reaaly good. It's such a lo-fi but at the same time really strong record. The vocals are great, riffs are catchy what can't you not like about it.

Frank Ocean - Blonde

Bro got me in my feelings but it’s an overrated album sorry

Car Seat Headrest - Twin Fantasy (Face to Face)

Incredible I genuinely have no words for it.

Black Country, New Road - Live at Bush Hall
88

One of the best collective of all-time and I'm not exaggerating. They fucking made 3 albums in three years and all of them are absolute masterpieces. Live at bush hall is the brand new and shiny one and the only one without Isaac which is honestly my biggest ick with this album, the vocals are pretty good even really good, but... It can't compete with Isaac's weird and curious voice and delivery mixed with a strong british accent. Otherwise It's marvelous, grandiose and beautiful album.

JPEGMAFIA & Danny Brown - SCARING THE HOES
92

What happens when you put a experimental hip-hop upcoming legend with a psychedelic hip-hop master? It gives this fucked and weird sound that even I can't understand why I like it. That's probably why I like it so much.

The Microphones - Don't Wake Me Up
NR

Wow I'm at a loss for words but it was good like really good like I felt emotions like a lot of them

Danny Brown - Atrocity Exhibition
99

I find it funny how everyone remember about 2016 espiecially for the soundcloud rappers and XXL cyphers when you had Danny Brown releasing a litteral masterpiece of an psychedelic rap album that just show you how rap us versatile and great. 2016 AOTY without a doubt and ahould be a more famous 2016 music highlight than anything else.

J. Cole - Born Sinner

2 Chainz - Rap or Go to the League
NR

I mean it's a good trap album but miss new ideas.

Terrace Martin - DRONES
NR

When even kendrick sounds bad on this album I think it's a decent flop even with some of it's good cuts. Anyway OVERRATED
