Lil Ugly Mane - Oblivion Access
80

Intimidating, chaotic, horrifying, nasty, weird. Great!

Lil Ugly Mane - VOLCANIC BIRD ENEMY AND THE VOICED CONCERN
80

This score is kind of a prediction since I‘ve only listened to this album two times now but I already do get the vibe. It‘s a blend of genres with such a cute and likable sound. It‘s especially impressive if you compare it to Lil Ugly Mane‘s rap stuff.

Invisible - El jardín de los presentes
90

Luis Alberto Spinetta, the mastermind behind many argentine rock bands, also made this amazing record together with his band Invisible. Unique, innovative, beautiful and magical album which also features very very poetic songwriting by Spinetta.

Black Country, New Road - Live at Bush Hall
70

After the departure of the band‘s frontman Isaac Woods the remaining band came up with new music on this live album. Sadly, I‘m quite disappointed by it. It‘s not even bad, it‘s pretty good actually, but it can‘t compete with the band‘s two previously released INCREDIBLE studio albums.

Black Country, New Road - For the first time
90

What a debut. This album consists of only 6 songs, but they‘re all amazing and fit together so well to create this incredibly innovative rock record.

Chris Travis - Never Forget
70

Good collection of dreamy and atmospheric cloud rap songs by the one and only Chris Travis.

Stevie Wonder - Innervisions
90

Stevie‘s second best album is still a 9/10, even if it may be a light one. Still, that‘s very very impressive. Innervisions is a wonderful collection of songs you just can‘t not enjoy.

Lil Mosey - Northsbest
70

This album is so great at just being simple melodic trap. The choruses are catchy, it‘s not too long and the songs are really fun.

Madvillain - Madvillainy
100

The best hip hop album of all time… what more can I say? This is definitely DOOM and Madlib both at their best.

Death - Symbolic
70

First of all, this is technically very impressive. And it‘s good, but I‘m just not a big metal fan. I can‘t really enjoy most of it. This is probably one of the best records as far as death metal goes.

Lil Ugly Mane - MISTA THUG ISOLATION
90

It‘s crazy how a guy who doesn‘t even take himself serious can make a better rap album than 99% of rappers. Bangers from front to back.

Miles Davis - In a Silent Way
90

In a Silent Way is a really awesome Jazz Fusion album. It‘s so soothing and relaxing but also hella interesting with the rock fusion aspects. Truly a Jazz Fusion milestone.

Fishmans - LONG SEASON
90

LONG SEASON is just brilliant, it‘s so dreamy and enchanting yet so alive and vibrant. By the way I LOVE the slightly off key bass line throughout the song.

Steely Dan - Aja
90

Aja is soo smooth from front to back. It gives me such strong summer vibes and every single song is great

Denzel Curry - King of the Mischievous South Vol. 2
80

Yet another 8/10 for 2024 goes out to… Denzel Curry! KOTMS Vol. 2 is so entertaining and hard-hitting while the beats are amazing. It‘s like Memphis Rap but mixed well and with high consistency, which is quite the rare find

Cocteau Twins - Heaven or Las Vegas
90

This album is so beautiful and it took me about 5 listens to finally get it. The vibes, oh my god… it feels so ethereal

WESTSIDE BOOGIE - More Black Superheroes
70

Enjoyable and easy to listen to hip hop album but by no means forgettable. Well, maybe a little…

DANGERDOOM - The Mouse and the Mask
80

The Mouse and the Mask is probably DOOM's most comical album and it does a really good job at it.

Joey Bada$$ - ALL-AMERIKKKAN BADA$$
80

I preferred the first half over the second one but it's all in all still a very good political hip hop album with great production

JPEGMAFIA - All My Heroes Are Cornballs
70

There are some really really good songs on there, although the album feels a bit like a fever dream at some points.

"@MyNameIsLuca It’s natural for personal taste to play a role in how you experience music. Admitting that I‘m "not a big metal fan" adds enough transparency to my perspective to make it clear that my view is personal rather than an objective critique of the genre. That‘s what a review is all about imo. Thanks for the positive comments on some of my other reviews tho!"
