Swans - Cop
60

Swans stay true to their Noise Rock sound, although Cop feels like a drop in quality at certain points. It‘s slower and feels even more depraved than Filth, but it lacks the drive and rawness that made Filth so interesting.

Swans - Filth
70

Swans' first album ever, Filth, really is as filthy as it sounds. It‘s a really well-made No Wave album with repetitive, dissonant and heavy instrumentation.

Jeff Buckley - Grace
90

Jeff Buckley was an incredible vocalist, let alone songwriter. On his only studio album before his tragic and sudden passing he managed to prove that beyond doubt. His vocals are out of this world, they're enough to send shivers down my spine. Then there's also his songwriting, it feels deeply personal, poetic and layered with meaning and metaphors. Grace is an album that's not easy to categorize, it can maybe be described as a timeless and ethereal rock masterpiece that paved ... read more

Cleo Sol - Gold
70

Gold is a very soothing and comforting Neo-Soul album. The production is clean and I really enjoy listening to it. Especially Life Will Be is a really good song.

60

Really short project by Westside Gunn with some good songs on it. Sounds quite raw though and there are some way better entries in the HWH series… and Lost Art is really really bad.

The Avalanches - Since I Left You
80

There‘s no doubt that these guys MASTERED the art of sampling. Technically really impressive album that has definitely influenced many many later hip hop producers.

Yes - Drama
70

Every time I listen to a Yes album other than Close to the Edge I ask myself what makes it so much worse than CttE? Drama is a great example for this, it just doesn‘t feel as authentic and memorable as I‘d like it to. Light 7.

Saba - CARE FOR ME
80

Such a nice hip hop album. It‘s extremely chill, production is great, the storytelling is great. Truly an album to just chill out and enjoy a bittersweet sentimental mood. Rest in peace, Walt.

Pink Floyd - Animals
90

I don‘t even care about the topic and social commentary on this album all that much, it‘s the instrumentation that‘s just phenomenal and so captivating.

渋さ知らズ [Shibusashirazu] - 渋星 [Shibuboshi]
90

Holy shit… I‘ve just discovered this masterpiece. This is probably the craziest and heaviest jazz/rock fusion I‘ve ever heard… insane shit

Future - EVOL
70

Yet another 7/10 project by Future. It‘s relatively short, it‘s hard, it‘s a solid trap album. It just shows the consistency that Future had in his career’s earlier years once again.

Future - Purple Reign
70

Purple Reign is yet another solid project by Future without breaking any boundaries. You can clearly see he‘s got really comfortable with his style by this point. By the way, I really like Run Up, that track is hella underrated

Future - DS2
80

DS2 got to be Future‘s best solo project to date. The tracks are relatively easy to listen to, but they‘re still catchy and hard-hitting. Also, there are so many classics on this album which make DS2 so iconic

Drake & Future - What a Time to Be Alive
80

I swear to god this album does not get the credit it deserves. Live From The Gutter is an incredible trap song in my opinion but every track has its unique characteristics. Also, Drake and Future really got great chemistry.

DJ Esco - 56 Nights
70

Similar vibe to Monster, but a little less memorable. The last 3 tracks are easily the best, especially March Madness, I love that song

60

Maan, I really tried liking this more than I do. I mean it‘s not bad at all but just so unmemorable compared to other Future projects from that time. Future has good energy but Zaytoven‘s production is just so monotonous

70

I really like Monster, and I think Codeine Crazy is incredible just like everybody else BUT I honestly don‘t understand why this mixtape is supposed to be THIS good and especially so much better than his others. If you love this so much, go listen to his other projects and you‘ll see that Monster doesn‘t stand out all that much after all.

Future - Honest
70

There are so many memorable songs on this mixtape, still it‘s so slept on. Everyone who likes melodic/ pop Future should listen to this immediately. Also, there are some amazing features on this mixtape.

Future - Pluto
70

I think this is surprisingly good. It has bangers, catchy hooks and melodies and it‘s just overall so fun to listen to. Definitely an underrated Future project to say the least

Osibisa - Wɔyaya
80

Very cool progressive jazz rock album with some African influences. Also, I love Roger Dean‘s art on the album cover.

"@MyNameIsLuca It’s natural for personal taste to play a role in how you experience music. Admitting that I‘m "not a big metal fan" adds enough transparency to my perspective to make it clear that my view is personal rather than an objective critique of the genre. That‘s what a review is all about imo. Thanks for the positive comments on some of my other reviews tho!"
