Pluto should be appreciated for what it is, an album of impeccably crafted, energetic, original music that is striving above all else to be popular and universal, even if such goals look less likely of being achieved than ever before.
Pluto is fat and redundant at 15 tracks, but it delivers whenever you desire that purple and woozy, Cudi-meets-Khalifa flavor.
He sounds like everybody else on Shade 45 in 2012, so it’s going to work, but it’s only going to leave the faintest impression on me.
Even if you stripped away the technology that makes Pluto so Tron-like, you would still be able to tell Future is a great and incredibly creative MC.
Both Future’s drugged-out vocal style and the chintzy production, so arresting in isolation, become wearying; by the time the album hits a brief upturn in quality in its closing stages, it’s hard to rouse oneself to care.
At times tasteful and other times tasteless, Pluto demonstrates a bravado that knows no shame. Time will tell whether Future’s cheeky style is simply a passing faze or a trend that others will carry a torch for. Here’s to hoping few will.

Futures debut album, aka the first project to truly show his potential as a trap rap icon super early in his career. Some of early Futures best tracks are on this album, like "I'm Trippin" and "Same Damn Time" with some amazing performances from Future and the features. Production also on some of these tracks goes craaaazy, really liked the sorta spacey vibe it tries to go for! However, some songs just absolutely RECK of early 2010s style sounds, with tracks like ... read more
I swear Future should just retire the "pluto" nickname and gimmick. It has a horrible track record.
Highlights: Straight Up, I'm Trippin, Truth Gonna Hurt You, ☆Same Damn Time☆, Homicide, Turn On the Lights
Future’s discography run pt.2
Future’s studio album takes everything that astronaut status did, and did the exact same shit. This sounds the exact same. The only difference being that this album has a couple more good songs compared to astronaut status.
Kinda mid but also a little good. A decent start for Pluto but it’s definitely one of his weakest bodies of work
