I gotta admit, I completely overlooked this record. The National always "started" for me at Cherry Tree/Alligator and I never tried their earlier stuff, but I'm certainly glad that I have

It's just damn good. No real other way to put it, especially when contrasted with the stuff they're putting out now. It's more solemn, Americana, light, and "pretty" than their usual work, which I think works very very well. Good record.

Major improvement over her other recent singles. Definitely the best thing she's put out in a while.

It's just to hold us over for the next album.

This is simply good live/remix album, in fact not bad at all, I loved seeing NIN and Boys Noize play versions of songs together live and I wished there were studio versions of the songs... well alas, now there is. The songs are very well produced and sound great overall, a little underwhelming that there is no new material but eh, we have a new album on the way anyway.
