Holy fuck this is overrated. Same boring synths and vocals which make the majority of tracks drag. No where near as immersive or interesting as Lonerism.
Granted the post-chorus of The Less I know The Better at 2:37 makes me cum everytime but that doesn't take away how painfully bland this album is.
Expectations were a lot higher
Is this cheap pop, yeah. Is it unoriginal, yeah. Does it slap, fuck yeah it does. This album bops as much as it did in the summer of 2018. Easily his best.
Really enjoyed it however didn't like it as much as much as I thought I would. The general sound of The Smiths doesn't resonate that well with me as it clearly does with others. Some tracks also felt out of place, that last track especially was so unnecessary. Easily one of the worst on the album and the score would be a lot higher if the album had ended with There Is A Light That Never Goes Out.
The Boy With A Thorn In His Side is a fucking masterpiece tho.
