This really feels like a greatest hits compilation, it’s filled front to back with jams and John Fogerty’s vocals, both of which deserve perfect scores.
This album is why Led Zeppelin is greatly expressed as one of the greatest bands, this established their sound, before LZ 3 crumbled it down, directly leading to LZ 4 being what it was. I think this album is so overshadowed by its other counterparts’ popularity that people view it as a worse version of the first album. This album has it all, hard rocking riffs, incredible production, great hooks, and experimental moments.
This album is like trying an “old family recipe” that has been hyped up to you only to realize it is not as good as you expected, I think most people just hear the hits and it being called a classic and don’t realize how lukewarm some of the songs and moments are here, hint: it’s more than you remember.
Nice songs, not real happy about the “attention retaining” ability of them though.
Not as thorough as Rocket to Russia or as catchy as Self-Titled, but very, very good.
My favorite Bowie album, with the best Bowie song, Station to Station is really incredible about giving you this kind of feeling.
Many dark brooding songs with great hooks and instrumentals. I don’t like how this album uses noise. If you want to make noise music or noise rock you have to have some direction, which some songs don’t really have. This entire album in my opinion is held together by the song “My Guitar Wants to Kill your Mama”, the best part of the song is when three solos happen in succession, one is sort of electronic, the next is a saxophone solo, the next is an acoustic guitar. ... read more
When somebody says “Bob Dylan,” you don’t think about this album, but you do hear it. Dylan is an artist that you only need one review of one of his albums and you show your view on all of them. It would either be this or blonde on blonde, which I both like equally. This album may have the same formula of Dylan songs, but it is masterfully put together, it’s very difficult to tell you what I like about a Dylan album, but I like it very much. This is how you create music.
I mean, if there are no bad tracks how do you rate it lower than 100?
If not for Layla and Bell-Bottom this album would be Good but forgotten, everyone forgets how the rest of this album sounds anyways.
