ScHoolboy Q - Oxymoron

To start this off, ScHoolboy Q is definitely an amazing feature artist; I absolutely love his aggressive delivery, and his verse on "Brand New Guy" is one of my favorite verses of all time. But I was lowkey disappointed by "Oxymoron". I like its West Coast-coded energy, but the majority of the hooks are, unfortunately, mediocre; this is what mostly drags the album down for me. Also, the project drags a little, some of the songs are too long. "Studio" and "Man ... read more

"I need some tits in my mouth, I don't give a fuck if there's kids in the house"

Knew Action Bronson only from his "1Train" verse and was pleasantly surprised by this brand new release, "PLANET FROG". The album felt quite cohesive; I loved the transitions between the songs and the chill, laid-back production. Had a good time with this album, it's definitely an AOTY contender for me right now, maybe I should tap into Ariyan's discography more.

JPEGMAFIA - LP! (Offline Version)

JPEGMAFIA singing at the end of the TN&B! is so tuff🥹🥹

"LP! (Offline Version)" is a highly acclaimed JPEGMAFIA album, which differs from the original "LP!" because of some sample clearances and Peggy's record label's pressures.
Talking about the overall experience, well, maybe I don't respect or fully understand the experimental component of this album, but I feel like people glaze it just because of its experimentality (I may be completely wrong ... read more

Navy Blue - Song of Sage: Post Panic!

Navy Blue's "Song of Sage: Post Panic!" is one of the most well-produced and beautiful hip hop albums I've heard in a while. On his sophomore record Sage finds himself exploring introspective themes, such as mental health and healing from familial traumas.
The production on this album is definitely its strongest part for me, every producer snapped. The charming and calm vibe is immaculate; every beat is catchy, melodic, and brings up such a meditative feeling... not a ... read more

Denzel Curry - TA13OO

"TA13OO" is a standout 2018 album by Denzel Curry with the concept of "taboo" topics, such as fame, love, paranoia, and Zel's near-death experiences of him and his friends. The album is divided into 3 conceptual acts, which represent Zel's stages of mental state after getting fame and acclaim. Each part gets darker as the album continues, both literally (names of the acts) and indirectly (the soundscape is getting more grimy and gloomy). Denzel has released these 3 ... read more
