Album almost as good as the album cover, I don’t really understand why MX is just 2 songs with like 25+ minutes of nothing between
I don't support whatever the fuck Kanye/Ye is doing but there is actual some songs on here. Not the best songs but some definetly listenable decent songs.
Has like 3 songs which I really enjoyed but over the other fell short for my liking
Marina's lyrics might be corny or stupid for some but I honestly think she does it in the most iconic way which I love. I was quite to find out that multiple songs I would call classics are on here, but those so called classics was also by far my favorite tracks. Might be unfair to the other songs but there is probably a reason that they have become as popular as they are. Anyways the two first songs and last are all time bops in my opinion. Marina is a girl boss in my eyes (I don't ... read more
idk Chief, I wanted to give this album a listen since the user ratings and critic rating is so devided and I honestly think I came ot the conclusion that critics are scared to be harsh on it since they are scared to be deemed sexist. Because the choirs in these songs are not it and the lyrics are not it. The most enjoyable song was honestly Mother because it was so stupid that it kind of ended up being a bop.
I honestly find Tennis really chill and enjoyable, never nothing out of the odinary but I don't think they are trying to be tbh.
Overall some chill and very enjoyable Jazz but at points maybe a bit too simple and repetitive
I wanted to give this a listen since it might have my favorite album cover not gonna lie. This might be the longest album I have reviewed so far and even thought it was 1 hour 45 minutes (on spotify) it kept me engaged pretty much the whole time. I love how the intruments jumped around from ear to ear at times, even though it at few points played an instrument only in one ear without it bouncing to the other ear which I did not like that much, only happened very shortly though. I might give it ... read more
No complains other than it reminded me a bit of tv girl at times and I am pretty tired of tv girl
Whilst it might not reach the same level as Heaven or las vegas this was still my second favorite Cocteau Twins album and the final one I had to listen to. Now that I have listened to all the Cocteau albums I felt like this was a fitting one to end on since my two favorites were the first and last one. Anyways overall the sound of this album is some of the best from them in my opinion and I am quite surprised to see it ranked lower than some of the others but hey, to each their own. Two words ... read more
One of my favorite Cocteau albums for sure, I love how some of the tracks on here is a bit more energetic than some of their other works whilst still containing their sound.
This Cocteau and Harold Budd album was overall a bit underwhelming. That might just be because I was expecting more of a usual Cocteau twins album but this didn't really have any vocals. The track "Sea, Swallow Me" is beautiful though.
I think this is just a combination of songs from other albums and a few new ones, but all the songs they picked from their respective albums were great and overall just a great mix of cocteau songs
This album is perfect to just study to or have in the background while you do something chill, it is overall very peaceful with the exception of what sounds like war sirens in the background of "Cicely"
the last album of the first part of my cocteau marathon but their first album. This felt a bit rough at times but I did still enjoy the roughness of it for the most part. I always like listening to the first album of artists/groups so you know where they started and whilst it so far is probably my second least favorite album of theirs I did like that it was not as slow as something like their last album milk and kisses. Anyways this was my first part of the cocteau marathon and will listen to ... read more
I gotta be honest. I listened to 5 of their albums in a row so they did start to blend together quite a bit. That being said though, I did really enjoy the 37 minutes I spent with this album and so far one of my highlights in their discography.
More gibbering from the cocteau twins here, but I feel like this album was a bit underwhelming compared to some of their other works. I would definetly not call it bad, but I know what they are capable of and thats probably why this disappointed a bit.
A stepdown from Heaven or las vegas but I did start out with most likely best album from them. Anyways their last album is still great and if I were to describe it with one word it would probably be blissful. A bit slower than some of their other works but not in a way that hurts it really, unlike another one of their albums. Cocteau marathon continues
Cocteau marathon Raahhhh. I have really been addicted to the title track on here the past week and wanted to give the whole album a listen. This is really really good, even though the singing sounds like gibberish so much of the time it is still so beautiful.
