Honestly not as bad as everyone is saying. Shit lyrics and cheesy pop production, sure, but great progression and guitar work.
Despite being more flawed than most Mastodon albums, Hushed and Grim shines due to its emotional themes of loss and death, with each track building towards the incredible Gigantium, which acts as a nearly perfect send off to Brent Hinds.
This is one of the most perfect albums I have ever listened to. Every single song is full of emotion, and it all culminates in what may be my favorite song of all time.
So fucking underrated. The live stuff is all great, and No Quarter is genuinely the best cover I've ever heard. As a pretty big Zeppelin fan myself, it's as good if not better than the original.
