honestly it grew off of me. i really can't find much that makes me come back to this album constantly like people say it does. i remember first hearing this album and saying shit like it was like the best thing to ever happen to rap music in the 2020s. and to be fair, it was, in a way. the production from track to track was just insane. pharrell's versatility when it comes to production is otherworldly. most of the features actually understood the assignment and put out some of their ... read more
i’m the 2999th rating of this album thats crazyyyy
aside from that, this album is truly one of the greatest milestones in all of hip hop music. it is a must hear for literally any hip hop fan. the amazing duo cover social issues like racism and social awareness, all on some of the best production you will hear from the 1990s. you, yes you, need to listen to this album NOW.
every song on here was amazing and there was no worst song
10/10
short review for a short listen:
there is clearly some potential here, especially shown in "sober" and "easy", but i don't think kanii is executing it to the most. he clearly can put out an absolute banger like "sins (let me in)" or "Go" but here the main place where he falls short was his vocals. i'm not saying it's bad, it's just that he just sounds too much like the weeknd for his own good. however, some songs on here still did ... read more
A$AP Rocky Discography Review 5/5
arguably the biggest bounce back since chance the rapper's "STAR LINE". I thought this was going to be another TESTING situation where he experiments a bit too much and it doesn't work in his favor. this album does the complete opposite. instead of experimenting with rnb or pop, he goes the trap route, and it works very well. AIR FORCE and STFU really present this trap feel in a great way. additionally, songs with a more laid back vibe such ... read more
A$AP Rocky Discography Review 4/5
"TESTING" is one of the more accurate names i have seen in an album. what rocky does here works for the most part, but in some places instead of dipping his toes in the water he ends up drowning. i am mainly referring here to CALLDROPS and Kids Turned Out Fine, where he moves more toward something more RnB oriented and it doesn't really work in his favor. i find the album itself most enjoyable at its first 5 songs, which all either do the ... read more
A$AP Rocky Discography Review 3/5
WOOWWWWWW. asap rocky only gets better and better on his 2nd solo album, AT.LONG.LAST.A$AP. each track has a whole new feel than the last which keeps this album endlessly interesting. the production is always changing and those beat switches are just otherworldly. rocky is also at his best with his lyricism on this project, especially on holy ghost. i think it's funny, but also insane at the same time how rocky just found this random guy on the street and ... read more
A$AP Rocky Discography Review 2/5
LVL makes it an 85.
nah, LVL only gives it about 60 points. still a lot, but this album has more to offer than just LVL, right? there are some memorable tracks on here such as LVL, LVL, LVL, LVL and uuhhhh... oh uhh right yeah there are some memorable tracks such as 1train, LVL, goldie and fuckin problems. if you couldn't tell by now i REALLY like LVL. like a lot. LVL aside i think this album has some absolute bangers. he starts to move away from the ... read more
A$AP Rocky Discography Review: 1/5
am i the only one who doesn't love this mixtape? it feels like a lot of the tracks here just sit there. that's it. they just exist. i'm mainly referring to tracks such as palace, get lit or keep it G. both the bars and production are pretty underwhelming considering what rocky is capable of as shown in his later projects, but i can't really blame him for that because this is just the start of his career. however, there are a handful of ... read more
