Would be album of the year if there wasn't 12 minutes of filler, Fire & Ice completely kills the flow of the album for me, but otherwise I wouldn't say there's any skips, even the other interlude is solid, and there's quite a few 10/10 songs on this album for me. I thought mink was glazing the fuck out of this album when he was talking about it before he released it but the glaze was very deserved
Well Darkthrone are back after a 2 year wait and it's... something. It took more than half the album for there to be a single song that was actually good all the way through, although all the songs had awesome moments, it's really disappointing that Darkthrone still clearly have the talent and just aren't using it. The doomy sections are what really drag this down for me, I like doom but the doom sections, especially because of how flat the mix sounds is just... boring. It's ... read more
yeah i never rate stuff like this so idk what is good and whats bad for rap but this was pretty sick
What an awesome experience, unfortunately I don't think most of the songs work very well on their own, but maybe they'll grow on me as separate songs now that I've heard the full album. This is a fucking beautiful album, be it the long trippy instrumental sections or melodic parts with vocals, the album never really has a bad moment, I especially think the "final act" if you can call it that, starting with Us and Them (which may be one of the best songs I've ever ... read more
Although still not a Beatles masterpiece, removing Spector's production definitely makes the album a much more cohesive experience, although there are a handful of songs where I miss the small orchestral touches. The bad of the last album is gone though, so there isn't a whole lot to complain about here, this is Let It Be as it was supposed to originally be.
Well I'm finally at the end of my Beatles binge (not actually because I need to listen to the naked version), but I started this like 3 weeks ago for a girl who ended up breaking up with me midway through, regardless she put me on with some pretty awesome music so it's fine. As individual songs, this is some of the best music in the Beatles' discography, Phil Spector's production (although I'm a little bothered by the fact this isn't what the band wanted) sounds ... read more
84 ---> 100
Yeah I have no clue what I was thinking giving this an 84 on my first listen, it was the first Beatles album I had listened to in full when I started this little binge and I'm so glad I didn't skip over it again and go straight to Let It Be because holy shit this was perfection. The mix was perfect here, everything sounded incredible, the best songwriting out of the entire discography, proto-progressive here, and as Fenriz of one of my favourite bands, Darkthrone said ... read more
Not really sure why this is even considered an album and why they felt the need to throw in the boring ass songs from the soundtrack. There's only 4 new Beatles songs here and half of them aren't very good, one of them are actually pretty bad at that, rare for this band. The more I think about this idk why this was released in any capacity. If you're getting into this band you can skip this one or save it for last. I'm not even very excited to watch the movie like I have ... read more
Band's best work, it has literally everything. Almost 0 skips for me on this album, although most of my least favourite songs are my least favourites because they aren't my style and not because I think they're poorly made songs. Wild Honey Pie is the only actual miss on this album but it's less than a minute long in an 30-track album, so it's a blemish on what is otherwise a near-perfect album. Highlights for me are the more emotional songs, like While My Guitar Gently ... read more
BRO this is so good idk if I should rank it above Revolver or not but somehow I like this Frankensteined together album more than Sgt. Pepper's and everything before (aside from Revolver). Got me very excited to watch the movie, John especially was fucking incredible here. I Am the Walrus, Strawberry Fields Forever, Hello, Goodbye (not John but still) are some of the best songs in the Beatles entire discography, and despite being some singles mashed together with a movie soundtrack it all ... read more
got broken up with as i was listening to this but its pretty good lol
Easily The Beatles' best and most consistent output yet, every album (except Beatles for Sale) has had a few perfect or near perfect songs, alongside some mid and solid songs, this one had only very good songs, I wouldn't say any song here was a 10/10 but a handful got damn close and I still enjoyed every song here, which I can't say for anything prior, there was always at least one song I thought was meh, here is near perfection, I can't wait to hear what comes next, as ... read more
Don't agree with the message but this is some of the best music to ever come from The Beatles or any of it's artists.
