Travis Scott's maturity as an artist is remarkable. From this project, where the overuse of snare drums and messy production, to songs like 90210, Skeletons, or even My Eyes is a crazy evolution. The overhyper tracks thrown in the random tracklist made for an inconsistent and difficult listen.
Favorite Song - Hell Of A Night
I hate this mixtape for two reasons: it needs a remaster, and it needs to be put on streaming services. Overall, this mixtape is very inconsistant and has much lower production quality than future projects from Travis Scott. However, there are also some very nostalgic and memorable moments in the mixtape, and a strong lead up to Travis' best album; Rodeo.
Favorite Song: Drugs You Should Try It
The dark production pairs with Earl's reliably technical and creatively sinister lyrics to create a surprisingly contemplative atmosphere.
10th review done.
Favorite Song - Centurion
It's insane how the greatest rapper of all time is still able to make albums in his own style without following the mould of some of the modern hip-hop styles into his songs and craft timeless bangers. This and his other recent albums are further cementing him as the most versatile and influential artist to ever do it.
Favorite Song - Death Row East/Nobody
The perfect compilation album. Each song is soulful and beautiful in its own way while also being distinctly recognizable and nostalgic. A collection of timeless classic from the 'King of Reggae'.
Favorite Song - Could You Be Loved/Jamming
A very short album, packed with introspective lyricism and jazz-infused production that elevates the emotional environment.
Favourite Song - Live! from the Kitchen Table/Beloved! Paradise! Jazz!?
This album is the literal definition of Rhythm and Blues. Amy Winehouse is incredibly talented, with a melodically distinct voice. Amy opens up on this album, each song and theme having obvious significance to the late artist illustrating the overall emotion throughout.
Favorite Song - You Know I'm No Good/Back To Black
Hip Hop album of the year so far. Vince Staples finally sounds in tune and content with his identity and aware of what he wants his legacy to be. Dark Times continues and refines the themes of his past two albums. Vince delivers an album with a consistent perspective. I hope to hear more from Vince in the future as I have been thoroughly enjoying his sound, versatility, and growth as an artist.
Favorite Song - Étouffée/"Radio"
Relistening to this album gets better every time, aging perfectly. Undun is incredibly underrated, as well as short but hard-hitting. This is the album that introduced me to The Roots after being a fan of Big K.R.I.T. The themes found in this album are expressed through genre-binding vocal performances, introspective lyrics, and production that sings along. This is an album meant for listening through with flawless track-list organization. Can't wait to see them perform.

First review. Just listened to this in the dark late at night. I've been meaning to delve into Mac Miller's discography for a while, very happy I did. This album is a beautiful representation of the Neo-Soul sub-genre, chill, lyrically-strong, and evocative. Rest in peace.
