One of the most relaxing experiences I’ve had with an album so far, It’s just a really enjoyable listen and I found myself smiling through most of it!! The first song here was gorgeous, and “Corcovado” was so intriguing…I loved every bit of instrumentation here, and it sounds so warm like you’re really in the room with the musicians!!

Sometimes its hard to sit through a movie without getting a little distracted but this soundtrack kept me in a daze...

I wasn't told to much about this movie before watching it, I actually expected a mostly visual experience. The first time I listened to this I knew it was special, but after diving further into his discography I can confidently say this is one of the most impressive works I’ve heard, everything moves so cohesively and songs jump to new parts like it’s second nature, it’s as if I’m listening to the band play and Mingus is giving me exactly what I want in ways I don’t expect!! “Moanin” has gotta be one of his best songs!!! This album was super fast paced, “cryin blues” was the only real slow jam here, compared to other mingus albums “Blues and Roots” sticks to the speed and the unpredictable nature that comes with it!
