I found this on accident looking for new jazz avenues to go down, and holy shit this is IT!
This is one of the most impressive jazz works I've heard so far, and a lot of that comes from all the amazing details here!! I could only compare the production of this album to the likes of "Angry Noises" By Ciśnienie, so fucking loud all the time, its in your face and its doing whatever the hell it wants...AND I LOVE IT, the only breath you get to take is during "Quasar" ... read more
Magic Love, Magic Love Magic Looooooooooove !!!!
Its crazy we even got this album considering the recording process was just Shinji Sato giving his bandmates demos of ideas, they added their own parts to his creations and we were left with such a dreamy and unforgettable record !! Everything here has its own personally, like the jump from "IN THE FLIGHT" to "MAGIC LOVE" is night and day, we go from this nice slow piece with acoustic guitar to a super upbeat dance tune !! ... read more
One of the most relaxing experiences I’ve had with an album so far, It’s just a really enjoyable listen and I found myself smiling through most of it!! The first song here was gorgeous, and “Corcovado” was so intriguing…I loved every bit of instrumentation here, and it sounds so warm like you’re really in the room with the musicians!!
Sometimes its hard to sit through a movie without getting a little distracted but this soundtrack kept me in a daze...

The first time I listened to this I knew it was special, but after diving further into his discography I can confidently say this is one of the most impressive works I’ve heard, everything moves so cohesively and songs jump to new parts like it’s second nature, it’s as if I’m listening to the band play and Mingus is giving me exactly what I want in ways I don’t expect!! It goes without saying that Charles Mingus is an absolute legend, and I’ll continue to ... read more
“Moanin” has gotta be one of his best songs!!! This album was super fast paced, “cryin blues” was the only real slow jam here, compared to other mingus albums “Blues and Roots” sticks to the speed and the unpredictable nature that comes with it!
