Darkthrone - Pre-Historic Metal

It's decent. But it really seems like Fenriz got lost in character and started making boomer black n' roll.

Unc lost like 90% of his edge and sounds more like "angry grandpa yells at clouds" nowadays, sadly.

Albeit, there's only so much black metal one can make before the genre itself becomes stale. So there's also that...

Holy fucking shit.

Truly an "oops, all bangers" type album. No fillers whatsoever. Just gems from front to back.

Probably one of the best melodeath works to show to beginners.

It's more industrial/electronic versions of classic NIN songs. If you enjoy that sort of thing, this might be for you.

None of the versions really grabbed my attention besides the novelty aspect. I wouldn't listen to them instead of the original tracks.

But I'm more rock/metal-oriented anyway.

Pretty good. Just wished it relied a bit more on that jazz metal vibe from the first tracks. And wished it was a tad shorter too.

It's fine. Just kinda boring once past the half-point, because it's mostly the same as other Rob Zombie works. No novelty.
