One of the most beautiful and melodic metalcore albums I've heard.
EDIT: I have never seen a critic give an album a 0 so that's awesome, shoutout to Still Listening!
TRACK REVIEWS:
The second half of Prequel saves that song from it's weak ass start because it's actually so epic sounding, really sick.
Popular Monster came out FIVE YEARS AGO but either way it's a good song.
I still enjoy All My Life because it's just so feel good and fun, I don't really know how to explain it. A little overhated but still.
Ronald is EASILY the best ... read more
Probably the most creative and heaviest breakdown I've heard from them, I still miss Pat as the vocalist though
EDIT: this album has really grown off me, I'm not sure what it is, but it just feels so incredibly inconsistent, the songs themselves are good but it feels more like a compilation of singles rather than a cohesive experience. I won't dock the score too much because yeah it is a debut but still
PARABOLA have released their debut album after a long time of waiting for it.
I loved their EP from earlier this year, and three of my favorite songs on that EP are on this album so that's ... read more
AOTY.
Ok, actual review time.
This is infinitely better than all of this band's other works. Like Innocent was really good, and there were some great ideas at play, but holy shit.
Everyone's performance on this album is incredible. Drums are so incredibly well-played, syncopated, polyrhythmic, and even some parts with some cool ass modulations. Guitars are phenomenal, especially on Breathe, the bass tone is sexy as hell, and the vocals are so much better, like Devon has always been a ... read more
Guitars sound a little choppy. Hoping the album version is better but I like this too.
This is the best album I have ever listened to. Seriously. I used to think Periphery V was the best album ever made but this is genuinely a smidge better. Comparing it to TMBTE, the vocals sound a lot more raw and have a lot more emotion. Comparing it to Sundowning, this album has a considerable amount of more piano work and it is absolutely mesmerizing. The raw talent and pure emotion poured into this album cannot be overstated, and the beautiful melodies mixed with raw aggression is so well ... read more
Funnier than LD2 but not as iconic as LD1
Pretty disappointed by this one. There isn't really anything interesting going on here and it's very predictable.
A cover of one of my favorite country artists ever. This band never disappoints.
One of the best musical experiences I've ever had.
Wtf is a vocalist?
Okay this isn't nearly as iconic as the first one
Not as funny either but still
They made it in one day
Yes
This is literally the Spotify smart shuffle button but it's all actually one artist.
Each songs sounds so insanely different and it feels way too long, but there are some really strong moments in pretty much every song, it just doesn't feel like a cohesive album -more of just Donald Glover uploading random songs in no particular order.
Banger for the most part tho
