Another solid release underneath the Machinecode alias, nothing too striking though.
Homemade Ghost w/CZA: 8.4/10 The stutterring pads and distorted phased vox on this track gives it a pretty unique sound, unlike a lot of their other output.
Generator: 7.4/10 incessant, dark, but not quite grabbing my ears as much as I'd like
Drunken Re_Master: 8.2/10 a recreation of one of their 2015 cuts. The bass work on this one is insane, really love those off-kilter synth stabs.

So this is what you all must have heard 10ish months ago! /hj
A lot more what I was hoping from the core album: punchier beats, more visceral sound design, and the same gorgeous vocals FKA Twigs normally delivers
Fave tracks: Love Crimes, Wild and Alone, HARD, Touch a Girl, Predictable Girl, Sushi, Piece of Mine
Least fave track: Cheap Hotel
Hansha: 7.8/10
Apparatt: 8.3/10
Myriad: 8.2/10
Poor Man's Rose: 7.7/10

What if you wanted a good Viperactive song but Dillon Francis said: "same dremmel synth I've been using since 2014 which makes all my music sound like ass"
While it lacks any particularly stand-out moments, "Mr Melanzana" is still a very well-made psybient/IDM excursion by Mr. Bill. The record feels very Tipper- & Infected Mushroom influenced much of the time, though the more stripped back sound design allows Bill's character to come through much of the time.
While I am not as ecstatic with this record as with something like Phantasmagoria, it's definitely still a very chill and enjoyable background listen.

people who say Charli is doing a good job on this song....where? She doesn't belong on this beat at all.
Kai Wachi should not be releasing a better album than NGHTMRE in 2025. There are a few highlights here but otherwise it's a very average collection of bass tracks. Doesn't help that it feels rather scatter-brained much of the time.

F.O.O.L.'s newest EP carries with it the producer's best crop of tracks in literal years, featuring some of the most creative ideas and cleanest production in his catalogue. He seems to have become a lot more confident with throwing some of his heavier production underneath his typical synthwave style, which has led to much more effective drops. The only thing that it would need beyond this point would be a return to his early songwriting, and you'd probably have a near-perfect ... read more
Though I found the EDM elements to be somewhat hit or miss across this record, the RnB portions are as strong as ever for Sudan Archives, with entrancing and ear-grabbing lyricism that often plays off generally quite punchy production ("MS. PAC MAN" excepted, i don't really know what she was going for on that one). I'm always a bit hesitant with any "critic-loved" dance record, but I'm happy that this one mostly lived up to the hype!

The debut LP from dubstep producer, LYNY, is here, with relatively impressive results, even if by the backend it struggles to hold the listener's attention. I want to start off by saying the atmosphere on this record is genuinely fantastic, capturing this desolate big room that gives each of the tracks so much personality they might not otherwise have. Many of the grooves on these tracks are genuinely infectious and take me into them quite quickly.
The problems on this record really ... read more
Tokyo post-bass is definitely an interesting, burgeoning scene I'm curious to see the direction of in the coming years. The isolated, minimal basslines play off of the textured but sparse percussion in intriguing ways, though further complexity is likely necessary before true greatness is reached in my opinion. pretty marked improvement from the last Fetus project I heard, given the solo track on here from Dayzero I believe it might have been their doing.
